It was pretty cold last night, think it was about 1.5 degrees. If it was me I would give them to the dog or my husband, cos I have had food poisoning quite a few times in my life and its horrendous. DH has iron guts and wouldn't even bat an eyelid.

I would be very cautious of chicken left out all night. How cold was it last night? Do you really want to take the risk?

CP, I can understand you letting DH take his chances but the dog?

I wouldn't eat them, especially chicken. Can be very dangerous. I'm assuming if it was cold last night you would still have the heater going? To keep house warm. I wouldn't risk it.
-
I don't think I would risk it, not worth getting sick
-
Better to be safe than sorry Hally - hopefully you had a good feed of them beforehand though. The cats will eat them surely rather than waste them.

;D ;D ;D dogs bury bones and unwanted food all the time, I'm sure its got a bit of an iron gut as well. Isn't that why you have a dog? I'm sure the cat would love it too, though I would mince it up.

Don't risk it Hally. I left some p[izza scrolls out a while ago and threw them out. It serves as a reminder and you won't do it again. Unless you know of someone you can risk it on. ;)

Good choice H, never mess around with chicken. If you are not sure, always throw it out.
-
H, when in doubt, chuck out. Good girl well done.

I agree. Chuck it out. I hate throwing out food, but it's just not worth making yourself and everyone else sick.
I accidentally left some chicken on top of the second freezer earlier this year when I was rearranging food, hoping to find some extra space. It was a whole packet of free range chicken thighs. There was a terrible smell in the room and I assumed that one of the cats had caught a rodent or bird which had escaped and curled up somewhere and died ( it's happened before). I spent a whole day sorting though all my DH's stuff that was cluttering up the room, moved all the furniture, but couldn't,t find the culprit. I went to move the freezer, and noticed the packet of chicken on top. I could not believe how bad it smelled. At least I had a tidy room ( for a while anyway).

Couldn't agree more. Chicken can be deadly.
