Title: Good electric weighing kitchen scale

I bought soehle scale and had to return it since it did not work. Then I bought a cheap one from woollies which also had to be returned since it also did not work. Have bought the old fashioned one but it is not useful for really accurate measurements. So the question is which brand of kitchen scales would you recommend?

I have had Arlec digital scales for donkey's years - never had any trouble with mine.

Courton a tip I was given at a cooking class once was to go to a commercial kitchenware place and buy a pastry chef scale / I did and it was great for about 10 years. Just packed up on me and I don't have a commercial kitchenware place near me and so bought the Heston Blumenthal ones. They seem fine.

I have very old Arlec ones too. They are so well used that the top of one of the buttons has disintegrated, but they still work.

My Mum had Salter, but she didn't get to use them much as they don't need scales in heaven.(apparently,) I plan to use them when my Arlec ones eventually die.

I bought a cheap set from Aldi and they are great.  And I managed to find some red ones.
My favourite colour.    :-))

I have a soehnle  . . with a bowl . . .hasn't put a foot wrong!  This was among the things I might have passed on having been introduced to the TMX but I find it's still handy to have around :)

I have a soehnle as well that I bought  about 8 years ago and it's been fine.  Courton, sounds like you've been very unlucky with scales in the past. You definitely need electronic ones, especially having a TM  ie the 1g increments on the scales are obviously more accurate than the older 'needle' type dials. Im pretty sure I bought mine from a store that sells to the hospitality industry as well as the general public.
