I noticed this on the shelf with the long life milks a couple of weeks ago. I really don't like the taste of long life milk so never buy it but I was intrigued enough to try this one.
I was very surprised to find it tasted like normal milk with none of the usual taint I detect in other long life milks. So at my next grocery shop I bought a couple to keep in the fridge for if we ever run out of milk (which we've done twice recently and so why I was interested in trying this one).
It also froths really well for cappuccinos.
Thought I'd pass this on. :D

Interesting JulieO, I know what you mean about the long life milk having a taste of its own. I prefer fresh milk but can tolerate UHT milk when needed and find it very handy when we have ram out of fresh milk. Will have to keep an eye out for this one.

Thanks Julie, we really dislike the taste of long life and would prefer to go without but this sounds like it might be the way to go.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago in the supermarket and agree that it actually tastes really nice. I don't normally buy long life milk and only use it in a dire emergency but I was after some milk powder and found this in the same area at the supermarket. As my DH is a coffee fanatic and loves frothing milk with his coffee machine, I bought some to try particularly as it was on special! I also loved the packaging- I'm a sucker for that kind of thing! I also have since bought a couple more to have as a standby in the pantry. I have to say that my favourite milk at the moment is a2- even though it's darn expensive I absolutely love the taste and I hate the generic supermarket brand milk at the moment- yes it is cheaper and given how much milk we go through in a week, I would save a lot of money buying it, but to me it just tastes so insipid and watery.

Back in the day, your grandmother would have dipped a steel knitting needle in the milk to test if it had been watered down. Pure full cream milk will cling to the knitting needle whilst watered down milk will run straight off.
I remember seeing my grandmother doing that when milk was delivered in the billy. Pity the poor milkman if granny found out the milk had been watered down. She was one tough lady ;)
