Quick question, which cleaner do you use in a bucket of water for mopping floors? A homemade one or bought one? Thanks.
Got rained off the ride and the garden, so now turning my attention to the house. Pity, as would rather be outside!

Quick reply . Vinegar and water on the tile floors.

Vinegar and a few drops of eucalyptus oil

Oofhh DJ, are you spring cleanng
:)

I used the Earth Choice - Eucalytus. I like the smell. Then on some areas that got a bit more traffic like kitchen and toilet, they get special second time mop with hot water and vinegar. 😊
-
Hot water and a drop of dish washing detergent.
-
I use an Enjo mop and make my own cleaner based on what I think is in the Bosistos one. It's 15% Eucalyptus oil, 5% Citronella oil, 30% Caprylic, capric glucoside (http://www.aussiesoapsupplies.com.au/surfactant-ccg-solubliser.html), 30% Ethanol, 20% water.
I love the way the house smells when I'm finished.

Methylated spirits and water here but maybe I should try the vinegar.
-
I sometimes use Cookie's method and other times use the vinegar method - doesn't seem to make much difference.

How interesting.
So no one uses a mix of lemon cleaner, or miracle spray or washing soda.
I have linoleum, and lots of it.
Well Halex I realised lately that I hated the smells of the bought ones. I had a bit of cleaning help in April at lambing time, when i was doing a 70 hour week and she used so much cleaning stuff in the water it made the house stink and cost a fortune in cleaning stuff. Even when I came in hours later the long was strong.
So have been reading on here and making cleaners up. Got lemon and miracle so far. Just working my way round the house. It was newly done when we moved in last year, so is not a hard place to keep clean.
Just trying to decide what to make up for the floor which is I do 2 x week, and is dirty, as a farmhouse and a very busy kitchen.

Hot water with half a cup of vinegar and a few drops of Eucalyptus oil for the tiles.
-
One of the following (on tiles in kitchen):
Enjo and water
Enjo and water with either eucalyptus or tea tree oil
Enjo and water with either white vinegar or methylated spirits
Or hands and knees and wash cloth with detergent or just water if there's an immediate need to resolve a spill.
Ideally - I use someone else to do the floors.

What is enjo?
I will google it.

I don't know you would have to ask my cleaning lady.
-
On my tiles I use my steam mop.
-
I use pine oil, its a disinfectant, commercial grade.
5 litres lasts me 6 months for polished timber floors..
-
I use a steam mop as I have the entire house to do. No carpet not even in the bedrooms.
-
Obbie I also use Pine oil (lavender) I love the smell :)
I also put a squirt of a floor cleaner that has baking soda in it (can't think of the name)
-
Dede, I can get the lavender one too.
-
I usually use Earth Choice brand in a bucket of hot water. Last time however I sprayed floor with miracle spray and mopped up with water - worked just as well on my timber floors.
DJ - I know what you mean about the smell of commercial cleaning products. Some of them make me feel quite nauseous (which just proves that housework is bad for you) so have switched to miracle spray.
-
I usually use lemon Jasol, but I made up the miracle spray this morning. I then got sidetracked cleaning out my fridge this morning, but after lunch I will vacuum and then wash the floors with the miracle spray mixed with hot water.
