I think it is a little sad for the possible future of the forum if that is the way that we are going to have to go.  I'm sure that there will be other competitors in the future and if all mention of them is to be suppressed here it would be sad.  I can however understand that suppliers/retailers should not be allowed to "advertise" their products here.  Personally I think HO have a little too much power here in Australia, no wonder so many people are now actively looking buying machines from overseas.

Are we not allowed to talk about other machines like the ThermoChef  either when some of the members here actually use that machine and there are a few Bellini owners as well?

Why did Grace want to delete and censor the posts on the Devils Cookbook when it was actually published by Thermomix in Australia Pty Ltd? That doesn't make sense unless something is seriously wrong with it. I for one will not be making any comments regarding the book . Nor will I be reviewing any more of the recipes. If HO wants to censor our comments I say we make no comments on the book at all and let it stand on it's merits. Shame.

No wonder the consultants are having to rename their FaceBook pages and remove all references to Thermy,  Bimby, Thermo etc as Stef Berg consultant says on her Facebook page.

I thought the domain for this forum was not registered in Au. If that were the case HO would have a hard time changing it. There are many many people all over the world using Thermomix related names in their domain names. Interesting.

If Thermomix is without peer then what is their problem? If we have to watch everything we say and cannot give honest reviews then what is the point.?

Just goes to show how much value  HO  places on the Influance this forum has on their product.  The word Bully comes to mind.

I agree Gert, this is rediculous!  This is censorship gone mad and makes me think poorly about the thermomix brand.

If I was a potential new customer and came here wanting info to compare the tmx, chef, hotpro and then found out I couldn't discuss 2 of them, it would really put me off the tmx

Is it possible it is Thermomix Germany and not Thermomix Australia that has the issue ? Although the cookbook is Australian isn't it ! I agree though, if it is Australia ............. then most definately the have far too much power !!!

Ladies I think we will just wait on the new rules to come from MM.
He is like all of us and wants a lovely friendly forum, without advertising and direct criticism. I'm sure we will still be permitted to discuss the various competitors. I have said this entirely off by own back, so please don't hold me to it.

What about the shopping thread. Some of us would go into meltdown if we lost our shopping thread.

Well maybe there could be a new sister forum made for the various cooking machines and a thread for each.  Then let each machine stand on it's own merits.  I have enjoyed hearing about all the various machines but am perfectly happy with my TMX at the mo.  If my TMX showed itself to be inferior or played up in some way then I might think about the HMP and would be happy to know about it.... it's a free world of enterprise out there and competition is generally a good thing and keeps everyone on their toes...but at the moment my TMX is doing all it is advertised as doing so I'm a happy camper.

I guess this is a TMX forum so advertising for other machines is a bit off but just hearing about them and discussing their merits as well as having a place for people to share recipes etc has been a good thing.

I think we can all agree that blatant advertising by a distributor of another product is not on.  Most forums that I am a part of ban any sort of advertising by someone who would benefit from it.  But forum members discussing their thoughts and findings on another product should not be censored, which is what is happening here.

Good on you Gert. I'm being very conservative tonight since it's only Wednesday and drinking Hahn 3.5. I normally only drink beer in summer, but my wine stock is getting depleted. "WHO'S BEEN DRINKING MY WINE," said the Mother Bear.   ;D

Oh o MJ . I guess it ain't easy to get a new supply quickly.  I love a cold beer in the winter as well as summer.  A black and tan is always good to ward  off the chill.

That's exactly what she use to say. :D
Probably these trendy wine bars wouldn't know what a Black and Tan is :-))

I'm just catching up (been offline due to a uni assignment all week).  Has MM posted some guidelines?  Are we not allowed to talk about competitors?

I think i've definitely missed something here
