I have an idea for a new thread but dont know what to call it.
Today I learnt that my DH doesn't like or eat sweet potato. I didn't know that at all, and had made SP wedges.
So what have you learnt about someone close to you recently that you didn't know?

Thanks maddy, I've changed the heading and subsequent postings - I'm sure DJ will be happy with that name once she wakes up. The longer is was left the more postings that would have to be changed ;)
I find my DH will eat something for years before telling me he doesn't like it. Mind you, he will still eat it ;D He will even drink a cup of coffee then tell me I had forgotten to put some sugar in it :-)) One thing I do know is that if you give him something he really likes too often, he goes off it. He made the mistake of letting people know he likes Kit Kats and lamingtons and when people came to visit him, they would bring one or the other. We have managed to get the message over now about the lamingtons but Kit Kats aren't so bad to have in the house - visitors and grand-children soon scoff them down.

DJ you often learn something new about people out of the blue.. :)

Judy, my DH is the same as yours, make something he likes too often and then he will go off eating it. That applies even to chocolate. I know he likes his fish cooked dry and not covered in a lot of sauce. One thing they (family) all like is homemade tomato sauce, almost a munity if I run out. Last summer he actually helped make it, which was great and made it a lot quicker.
He does not like dumplings, did not find that out until after we had been married for over 20 years, now 43 years. I had made them plenty of times and he had eaten them without saying anything. Then one day said he was not keen on them at all so have not made them since.

AFter years and years and years of DH telling me he didn't like baked beans, he tried them :-)) and of course he likes them, and likes my home made ones even more.

My DH won't sell raffle tickets. I came home this year with playgroup raffle tickets to sell, only $2 each with good useful prizes (1st prize $10,000 myer voucher) and he won't take them to work to sell. Flat out refused. I was very surprised.
Sweet potato he's not a fan of either, but will always eat it when I give it to him.

I think I have mentioned on here that my DH recently told me he doesn't like risotto, after 44 years. He recently told me he didn't like the chickens I had been buying for roasting for the last 10 years. Oh well, gotta love 'em.

I thought of this thread last night - both my mum and DHs mum were here for dinner and then DH decided to take me out so the grandma's babysat while we went out ;) ;D - anyway we showered and dressed - I put on a top that I had a fair while before we were even married - and DH said "awesome top, why have don't you wear that more often?" ... I never knew he liked it!!!! :D

Lol Astarra.
Thanks JD for fixing this thread.
