Title: Costco coming to Adelaide
Post by: judydawn on August 02, 2012, 01:23:48 am
I read in the paper the other day that Costco is going to build 2 of their stores here in Adelaide, the first is being planned right now with 2 sites being considered for it's location.  I do hope it is my side of town but I guess all roads will lead to a Costco store and it will be very welcomed by the good people of Adelaide.  This news will keep the big guys honest, a bit of competition is a good thing. Sorry Perth, I hope your State is next.

You'll love it JD and Karen. I travel to Sydney a few times a year just so I can shop there.
Happy for all of you in Adelaide.

Woohoo the only painful thing about Costco is the joining fee

Can I ask what Costco is? Obviously a shop but is it like a big warehouse sort of thing
Is it like Aldi?

Yes suzanne, it is like Aldi - a huge warehouse type supermarket selling anything from TV's, jewellery to bulk food, meat, vegies etc. You pay $60 a year for membership.  It's a bit like Ikea, you can spend the day there ;D

I saw that article too. I wonder where they will build it? They will need a large site, so it is likely it will out  be North or South, unless they could use the old Mitsubitshi site?

If it is south, I won't be going there - I don't do south further than Glenelg ;)  North or West will be my preferred location.

Let's hope they hurry up and make up their mind about which site to choose from the 2 they have in mind Karen.  Then they have to build it  ;D   Think we can probably slip in another get together before Costco is ready for us. ;)

The way our building is going Judy, the Costco will be open for business before my new kitchen is  >:(  And might even be cheaper to build too  :o

:D :D :D :D  You poor thing Karen, it has been a long time hasn't it.  You deserve a medal for your patience and I'm sure you will be rewarded by the most amazing kitchen when it is finished.
