Title: Hi :)
Post by: BecciM on August 19, 2012, 12:33:45 pm
Yep another Thermie newbie here :) I'm in Tassie and had my TM for almost 5 days. I am loving that I can easily whip 3 different home made things in my TM a day with no real effort. The easiest and most successful so far was a herb and garlic dip to feed the kids after school, took me 5 minutes and they were away and singing it's praises. I would like to attempt bread, it was a flop tonight but will try again tomorrow. I look forward to 'meeting' you all and learning more about TM.

Hi BecciM welcome to the forum, I'm also in Tassie (Perth)
Where about are you. There are quiet a few Tasmanians on the forum now.
Don't give up on the bread as its great once you have successes. Which bread recipe are you using?
I make a lot of bread rolls for the kids and DHs lunches and use either the cheese and bacon roll recipe or the no fuss bread recipe (both on this forum)

Hello and welcome to the forum BecciM. Here's (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=4253.0) the link to the no fuss rolls which can also be made into a loaf, easy peasy.

Thankyou JD I will try that one tomorrow. I tried Isi's very normal bread tonight and I stuffed up by only resting them once I think. Serves me right for trying to do that and get the kids bathed and into bed at the same time!

Dede I am in Hobart area :) I did live at Longford/Cressy for about 5 years, such a pretty spot up there :) I noticed in your pic you have 5 children yes? I have four and am keen to learn how TM can help me cater to their growing appetites!

Yes 5 kiddlets here, they certainly keep you on your toes. As for catering for a big family I use my TM a lot for making food for school/ work, and for preparing ingredients for main meals, and I steam all my veggies in the TM. I have had mine now for 20 months and still use it everyday and love it. Would hate to be without my TM now.

Welcome Becci.

I'm not very proficient on my TMX, I feel I'm still in the learning phase.

I havent made bread but i have made Maddies cheese & bacon rolls in Thermie but they were fantastic and I'm sure your kids would love them. Here is the link http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3114.msg35967#msg35967

Hi Becci,  Welcome to the Forum.  Try the No Fuss bread recipe, I wrote it for beginners.  Like where I live,  the finding of a warm spot for the  2 risings is an important challenge.  With 4 littlies,  time management is important with any cooking.  Ask for help, so you can get the most out of your TMX.   Ooddles of experience here in all types of cooking.

Dear BecciM, Welcome from me too.  Love the fact that you have chosen TMX to help you provide all the best for your family.  I may have been slow to get onto the net and welcome you, but if I say the word BOXES maybe you will laugh and forgive me.  Will see you soon about the bread.  Meanwhile, best of luck and read everything Chookie has contributed.  :)

Hi Becci,
Sorry it took me so long to welcome you. I have been out of the country for a while with limited access to wifi. I live in the same island, in the south and  have had my TMX for a few years now. This forum is the best place to get help for your machine as everyone is very friendly. It is nice to know that it is possible to cook nutritious and delicious meals for your family with your TMX.
Happy cooking :)

Yes Cecilia I will forgive you :)

I'm not struck on the bread rolls so far. :(. I think my problem is the rising in the cooler weather. Will probably give it another go and if it doesn't work will wait until the warmer weather. I just love cooking real food so quickly. My favourite so far is his fast I can get a zucchini slice in the oven, it's a family fave but takes a while to prepare normally, with Thermie it is a breeze!! Have made veg stock , butter, mayonnaise, beet root salad, coleslaw, berry cordial, berry sauce, rice, honey soy chicken, dips, shepherds pie, mashed potato, spaghetti bolognaise, mousse, multiple chocolate custards, sorbet, and I think that is it so far! I love it so much, and I feel so good knowing I'm reducing the amount of preservatives my family are ingesting!
Thankyou for the warm welcomes :)

A very warm welcome to the forum, BecciM.  I'd never even attempted making bread before I had the TMX - and now, for me, it's a breeze!!  Do keep trying and let's know how you're doing.
