I am making Almond milk for the first time, the recipe in the vegetarian book is about 1.5 cups almonds to 2.5 cups of water, there is also a recipe in the drinks section that is about the same, and i've got a very thick, almost paste like mix, should it be this thick, or should I add more water? Not sure I am going to get much 'milk' out of this...

Thanks! They both have a lot more water. Why do I rarely think to check thermomix uk, when I do I find lots of good stuff!

I make a blend of almond and cashew, but always use 50 g nuts to a litre of water

The almond milk recipe I use is yummy
50g almonds blitzed speed 8 ~ 20 seconds
then 1 tbs honey and 1 tbs coconut oil and 1 litre of water, cook speed 4, temp 6o for 6 mins, then speed 8 for 40 seconds, strain through a nut milk bag or muslin / chux.

I love my recipe too,
I soak one cup almonds overnight then rinse and discard the water.
place in TMX add 3 to 5 dates and 2 cups of water, process 2 mins speed 5 up to 9 adding another 2 cups of water after a min through the top. Strain and chill.

I made the almond milk using the Tebasile's recipe that Uni posted. I just wanted to know opinions. Is it just the second lot of strained milk that is the almond milk? Do you combine the two strainings? If not, what do you do with the first lot?
-
I just read the blog yes I would combine the two straining, straining is a pain so why not do as I do and just have one straining.
-
I only strain it once. I haven't read Tebasile's recipe. I now use 100g almonds instead of 50 to 960g hot water. One tsp of coconut oil, splash of maple syrup, both optional.
Blitz on speed 9 for one minute and strain. Easy peasy
