The list could be endless, but if it was pure indulgence and just for me and I didn't have to consider anyone else kids, husband, etc I would go to a health retreat like the Golden Door for a week and just rechange the batteries.

Robyn are you giving us $2000?

Not sure what I would buy maybe clothes or just keep the money and buy things as I see them. Can't think of just one thing.

I have always wanted a genuine Luis Vuitton bag, but nowadays that would be more than $2,000

Yvette, I wish...

I am currently saving for a HMP :D

But I love cooking as much as possible.

bags, clothes, holidays, a thermythings, great ideas.  We often buy what we have to, not what we really want as a indulgence.
So what would you buy if you could..

Robyn like you I would have a HMP.

Yvette I have a LV wallet. It is about 9 years old and is almost as good as the day I bought it. DD has several LV handbags and some of them ( a couple) were less than $2000. Not by much though. I'd dearl;y love one, but have retired and could not blow that sort of money. I'm also hard on handbags.

I just spent $1000 on two extra large tool box's for my ute.  Gave my daughter $1000 to buy herself a wedding present as she and her long time partner secretly tied the knot in Queensland a few weeks ago.  That's my $2000 GONE.......

Put your gold coins away and it won't take long. I have decided that if and when this one dies and even if I am 80 I'm replacing it with a LV.

I would love the health retreat as well though I could probably do that for myself now but never sure about doing that on my own and don't know anyone else who is interested or has the money.

A LV handbag sounds good.

Obbie, Cookie,  I'm interested to know why you want the HMP so much and do you think you would still get enough use from teh TMX? I guess I just don't have the time to cook that much or the people to eat the food.

This isn't as easy to answer as I would think - the thing I would like most is time.  Just time, nothing else - well, perhaps a clear head, not thinking or feeling guilty for doing nothing.

I would definitely put it towards a holiday somewhere tropical, that sells drinks in coconuts  ;D

Or maybe a contraption that holds my jaw shut together when I see crap food and when my tummy is full  :-))

But in the real world I would use that money for our backyard renos.

For pure indulgence just a holiday would be lovely. Child free.

In reality i would finish paying for Thermie and start Xmas shopping :p

Wonder I could see a HMP being a helper to the thermothingy .i love the fact that it could be used as a slow cooker, cook without breaking up the meat and do jams etc to the exact temperature. I think DD would love it too as I would only take one of them away in the van.

$2000k is not much money. All these things can be given to your friends cos often we know how to grant wishes if we extend stuff a little. It just doesn't have to be people who are "needy" just do stuff for your friends to bring a smile to their face. Sometimes one mans trash is another mans gold. Reallocate your rubbish or make something foodwise for your friends etc. It doesn't have to cost alot of money as we have proven by the goodie bag what we know about making people smile eg. knit a mug warmer, make a home preserve, bring some fruit, have a joke ready, be prepared to lift someone out of a seat and help them to the bathroom and back. If I think back on all the stuff I have bought and put on the verge I shrink in shame but I really think about my purchases now. It doesn't take $2k to make someone smile, and boy does it make you feel good for much longer than a $2k purchase perhaps we should put a challenge out here to see what we can do yeah? and its no competition to out do each other its just putting a smile on someone elses face other than our own  :D

So true CP63, looked at a video on you tube today called 365 grateful where a woman photographed and documented a little thing that she was grateful for every day for a year. Quite touching and something many other people have caught up on.

Much of what makes life worthwhile isn't bought with $.

Buuttttt,  there is always room to dream and save for what makes life good for us, so go for it!  Most of us are already putting in so much for others that a little reward is deserved (financial or non-financial).

Paying it forward it  what I always try to do. I take something someone has done for me in a small way an look for an opportunity. Sue Jen was kind enough to help me off the bus last weekend. Yesterday, even tough I have an aversion to mums with kids in strollers I made a point of helping  a mum with a twin stroller  trying to manage them into the loo at the shopping centre. I even waited with the kids while she had a pee.  I realised how hard that was for  on her own.

So I thank you Sue Jen again.  The mum could not have been more grateful. I told her to pass  pass it forward ? She promised she would help an old lady when needed . I was a bit pissed off. LOL!

Anyway it is the  small gestures that put a smile on people's faces .  CP is right  it is not about the money to buy up big and small  gifts can make a difference .  Just the same I want a HMP!

I love this, so glad I started it. :)

Wonder i would take my HMP to work, and cook there, and have the TMX at home, then both home on weekends.  i am taking my ice c ream machine to work Monday for the kids in the afternoon.

I do pay  forward too, I help my parents so much.

I am cooking next weekend  for the bowls club my parents are in.
Cakes, biscuits, jams, lemon butters, scones  and more.

We help so many people with our shop, a lot of ladies that need pumps fixed, and their DH have passed on.
An old couple up the road I bake for, we do a lot for them, no charge.

keep them coming. ;D

This is something I like doing when I can too Gertbysea  :)

My wishlist if I had $2000 spare would be...

To buy a studio lighting kit
Backdrop stand
Cloth backgrounds
Cheap table to put in front of the backdrop stand.

It will eventuate as soon as other more important things are completed here.

$2,000 doesnt buy a lot these days.

I would probably out it with my secret stash, which has now been depleted :(

I would use it for something or on someone totally extravagant but to bring happiness.

So at this stage it would be stashed away for a rainy day.

Maybe throw my friend a small part when she is cancer clear.

Have thought about this and would put money toward a stair lift.  Having had both ankles broken in the last 10 years (not both together though) my left one was broken 12 months ago and the right one still has the wires in from when they operated 10 years ago a stair lift would be very handy to have and would be very useful as we get older, enabling us to stay in this house.   I like being independent.

Hope you like the HMP Obbie

Actually Judy, it was very easy.  The first time I was hurrying to get bacik to work during my lunch break, having just changed my glasses to graded lenses.  I looked down at the footpath and the path and roadway blended, I looked back over my shoulder to check there were no cars coming at the same time stepping onto the roadway except there was a drop. I fell badly on my ankle, even heard it crack.  Got myself back to my car drove myself home and got my son to drive me to hospital.  It would not mend without them operating and wiring the joint.  It still gives me trouble at times.

Ouch Marie, Gosh rest up If I was you. :-*

Stair lifts are a great idea.

Our house now is 2 story, but on a slope, so we have a small ramp to the front deck, and stairs up to the back deck.
So easy for my Mum & Dad to walk over to us, with no steps.

Foxx, my sister has a photography business. Has so for about 27 years.

For those of you who know who Pattie and Selma are, yes I do call my sister in laws that to their faces  :) :) :)

 ;D ;D Love it HMP!

If I had a spare $2000 that would mean that I won Lotto. Which means it's all mine to play with.

I'd love a HMP, but would have to sell my TMX as that would really be overkill having two machines that were so similar. So, instead I'd buy a Grain Mill like this one (http://www.skippygrainmills.com.au/electric/billy200.htm). The rest of the money would go towards finishing our patio.

To grind our own wheat. Wheat doesn't grind up to flour properly in the TMX. You need good hard wheat for bread.

We recently had a bread making day here and a lady from Pingrup made the most divine wholemeal bread from wheat that she grew and milled in her grain mill. I've never eaten wholemeal bread that was so light and airy.

Did you visit the school? I did relief work there for a couple of days last week. Gorgeous little school.

if you cook at work obbie ,  people will come in by the smell and wonder what you are cooking and then find out your a pump shop not a food shop . that would be funny
maybe you could sell it on the side  NOW that would piss off your neighbour  if your food is better than hers   HA HA HA HA
Very good nazar.  ;D ;D

I wouldn't mind some new muffin tins. Or some of those shaped cake tins :D
And I'd like to buy my mum some new crockery. We've had the same stuff for as long as I can remember :-))
