Title: Split Thermomix mat
Post by: djinni373 on August 31, 2012, 01:27:10 pm
Not happy >:( >:( >:(
Despite treating my Thermomix mat with great care it has a split on the edge :o

I have had it for over a year I guess. But I have had my el cheapo mat longer and it has been roughly treated and it is fine!
It is just a small split at the moment but a still a split. It is repairable? Safe to use?
Any thoughts?
TIA  :)

Djinni I would not be happy either :(

Can you contact HO and see if they will replace it for you?

I have a couple of tiny splits in my mat. They developed after I had had it for only a short while. I am very careful now and they haven't gone any further.

I thought it said somewhere that if the mat is damaged you shouldn't use it because fibres could contaminate food.

So sorry to hear about your rips, djinni373.  Disaster chef, you are absolutely right.

Never use a cut or ripped Thermomat as the fibreglass mesh material could migrate into the food.
