Title: Paintwork cleaning suggestion?
Post by: droverjess on October 17, 2012, 08:47:01 am
Hiya.
What do you use for washing dirty paintwork like doors and skirting?

Presume dilute miracle spray? Unless you lovely people know different?

Thanks very much. 30 doors to do, both sides plus skirtings and door frames!

I use sugar soap but have also used miracle spray lately on doors that have kids prints on them and it worked well.

The super scrubbies (if you have one) are also good for getting off difficult marks with gumption or whatever you have

Thanks again. That's why DH will help, he has stronger arms. Even he'd noticed how badly it needs doing.

DJ, if you haven't bought any scrubbies, send me your address and I'll pop one of mine in the post to you.  I have another lot coming so can spare one for you.  They really are amazing and used in conjection with the Miracle Spray or Spray & Wipe recipes here on the forum, they do a great job.

DJ I recently cleaned and decluttered a house ready for sale (should add it is an oldish house so maybe the paint is different to modern paints) I just used miracle spray in a spray bottle, a soft brush and soft clean rags to clean tiles, floors, walls, doors, skirting boards and ceilings. Cheap as and worked a treat as long as you don't mind the smell of eucalyptus. :) Also leaves a lingering fresh clean smell.

The only thing to watch is that you spray evenly and wipe or rinse off quickly on light coloured surfaces or you end up with a striped effect which you can eventually even out with a lot of elbow grease. But best to avoid this if possible :D :D
