Title: Drinks - Affogato
Post by: SueJen on October 30, 2012, 12:54:41 pm
Amy has been giving me a hard time for not putting any recipes up lately, so am going for my favourite drink, not really alcoholic :) :) :) even tastes great without alcohol.
Even a strong instant coffee made in the thermo tastes good.

Ingredients: (serves 4)
4 big scoops of good-quality vanilla ice-cream made in thermo of course
4 teaspoons Italian liqueur (such as Amaretto or Frangelico) I prefer the Frangelico
4 espresso cups freshly brewed strong, black coffee

Method:
put the 4 big scoops of ice-cream into 4 small glasses or teacups, pour 1 teaspoon liqueur over each. Top with hot coffee and serve immediately.

Think I found this on the Taste site.

This is the only reason I make Frangelico

I have a still Frozzie, just like Gert. Thats how I make the base alcohol.
Frangelico easy Uni, base alcohol or you could buy a bottle of vodka and add the essence.
You make your own base, don't you, Uni?
Essences, I just buy from brewing supply shop in Albany.

mmmm, yum! We once had this at a restaurant with half a shot of black sambuca instead of the frangelico...you've just given me the inspiration to do it again...would be a fun dinner party dessert, choose your own adventure affogato!
