Does anyone else have issues with proving the dough in the thermie bowl? I have always risen mine in a pyrex bowl and never a problem. Doing it in the thermie bowl always sticks, especially to the lid and then it tears and it just deflates. Just wondering if anyone else has had issues?

Do what works best for you NF, I don't have a problem with it rising in the bowl. Maybe spray the underside of your lid before you set it aside to rise or leave the lid off and put a shower cap over it.

No I always leave it my TM bowl. Take out when mc pops up.

What is the problem with it deflating? You are going to knock the air out of it any way. It is a good sign if it sticks to the lid, it means it has risen nicely. However, as Judy says, do what suits you best.

I personally like to take mine out of the TMx straight away and prove in a bowl. That way I can clean up TMX straight away. The one time I left bread proving in the TMX bowl I had to dive into the dough to find the blade!,, do what works for you!!

most of the time i let my rise on the tray that i will be using to bake it

I leave mine to prove in the TM bowl and knock it down a couple of times before I immediately tip it out (usually comes all out in one go) then put it on the tray or in the tin to leave to rise again.

like that idea, Uni . . at first I used a large bowl and covered it with gladwrap, now leave it in the TMX bowl. Will try the tray when the house warms up a bit . . . ;D

I might oil the top and give that a go. I find it is very dry in the thermie but it might help if I oil the top. :) Thanks for the replies and tips ;D

I don't use the thermomix lid. I put a damp tea towel over it. You can still see when it has risen enough.

I use Chookie's No Fuss Recipe, Hally's Method. I always rise in the TM bowl and tip it out on to my ThermoMat when it's at the top of the bowl. I knead the dough a little bit after knocking it back. I love to feel the dough. ;D

I didn't even think to prove in the thermie! Great idea I have a loaf in there right now.
