Title: Vegan alternative for egg/milk wash?

I'm just wondering if there is a vegan alternative to egg or milk wash? Like on pastry things.

I'm looking for something that will play a similar role but I can only really think of oil. Any other suggestions?

Couldn't you use soy or almond milk? ???

Google came up with this Vegan's Substitute Guide (http://www.vegkitchen.com/tips/vegan-substitutions/) Tasty -  Amy is right, soy milk can be used as a glaze.
