Just starting to make these now.

From my wonderful new book Secrets of Jewish Baker
Basically it is just a normal white bread recipe but seems to have more yeast.

Both probably.

Gert!!! :o These are right up my savoury alley! And so perfect with G.R.! How did they taste? I love the idea of poppy seeds and onions too. Salivating here now and ps.... can I borrow your recipe? How about a spatula or scrubbie as trade? :-* Hmmmm???
;)

Gert I am nearly persuaded to buy the book too. They look delicious.

Well cookie the book is not like a regular pretty cookbook. No pictures and more like a manual on baking. Very useful for serious bread makers. He uses a lot of cornmeal for dusting. I prefer semolina. Also every recipe is adapted for hand, food processors and stand mixers. There are set program's giving you timelines. There are muffins, biscuits , flat breads and how to make pumpernickel colouring.
I must see what next.
Thanks you once again my not SS from giving me this gift that will keep on giving.

Hello Gert!
I just wanted to let you know that your post here inspired me to make Bialys on the blog. I've been meaning to write and let you know (made these some time ago!) but have been toooo busy to visit the forum. I do miss the good old days where there was enough time to answer emails, play with Thermomix AND visit all the blogs and forums. The times they sure are a changing in the TMX world ;)
Anyway, here's a link to my Bialys recipe as inspired by Gretchen (http://www.superkitchenmachine.com/2013/18375/thermomix-bread-bialys-recipe.html)! (wanted to make sure you got your due credit!)

Why thank you Helene. Long time no hear from you so you must be busy selling those wonderful, scrubbies.
In turn I have to thank Katie for ending me her book Secrets of a Jewish Baker and then My dear DIL now living in India for saying I should have that book. What a small world the Thermothingy world is.
BTW? Yours put mine to shame. Thanks a lot!

DD gave me the book for Christmas and I ashamed to say I haven't had a good look at it yet. These look lovely Helene and Gert.
By the time I play on my iPad, look at Twitter ( which I love as it keeps me up to date), check Tenina's Facebook, check the forum, use the thermomix , live etc, etc i know what you mean Helene.
