Post by: dede on December 08, 2012, 08:34:07 am
This is my grandmothers recipe that is really yummy but i have never made it myself as yet.

Anyone know how to convert this recipe to make in the TM? Obviously the quantity would need changing

Ingredients

1 bottle spice vinegar (not sure how many Mls)
1 tin dark blood plums (or fresh)
1 tin treacle
500g brown sugar
1 tbs crushed garlic
1 tbs ginger
1 tbs black pepper
1 tbs cloves
1 tbs cayenne pepper
1 tbs all spice
1 tbs chilli
2 tbs salt
2 cups corn flour mixed with water

Boil all together (except corn flour)for 1 hour and let cool.
Add corn flour mix and bring back to boil until whiteness of corn flour disappears.
Bottle in sterile bottles.

Does anyone know what spice vinegar is? I had a bit of a google but didn't see anything.
I guess just plain white vinegar would do the trick

Thanks Kyton, I guess you need to make the spice vinegar first before you try the plum sauce recipe.
Not sure I will get a chance to try this before Christmas, but will see if I can convert the recipe after Christmas. :)
