Title: Individual Christmas Puddings from QFITT
Post by: Greyhoundmum on December 12, 2012, 01:27:17 pm
I am excited....I have my dariole molds and I have the fruit mix on soak.  I am going to make these tomorrow.  I have found several references to this recipe but no reviews.   Has anyone else made them???

GHM, someone has to be the first to make a recipe - take the plunge and tell us how it went  ;)

I think the ones I made last year were from the Festive book

Ooh I've made these! I actually posted a couple of weeks ago to see if anyone else had made them. I used some silicone moulds from ikea as I didn't have dariole moulds. I think I got about 17 puddings. I had a spare one so had a little taste and it was pretty nice. Mum tasted it too and said it was beautiful. I've popped them in the fridge, so I guess the final verdict will be in after the 25th!

PS because my moulds were a bit smaller they didn't need the full 50 minutes - more like 40 from memory.

didn't have time to do step 2 tonight so fruit is still soaking on the bench, can't do it any harm sucking up that extra brandy!!,

Finally  got around to steaming my mini pudds yesterday. It made 14 of them and I have wrapped them in foil ready to steam up again over xmas.  They smell so yum and look cute too, didnt want to try one as I wanted to keep an even number !

Got to try the xmas pudds yesterday. didn't steam to reheat them as we were cooking meat on the BBQ so just left them in foil and placed on a high BBQ rack.

They are THE BEST (sorry for shouting) xmas puddings i have EVER tasted.  thanks Alyce.

Mine were delicious too!  I got lots of compliments on them. I just reheated them in the microwave. I served them with the brandy custard from QFITT which was very nice, but seemed to have a much eggier taste than the brandy cream from festive flavours.
