Thought I would continue the "top 10". Often customers ask me what they should try and stock up on or always keep in the pantry or fridge, so I thought I would ask you all the same question. (apart from the basic flour, milk and sugar that is :) )
The list of things which I always have on hand in the pantry or fridge are:
1. Tinned tomatoes
2. garlic
3. parsely
4. Sundried tomatoes
5. cashews
6. rice of any kind
7. chicken breasts
8. cream cheese
9. soy sauce
10. chocolate melts or cocoa.

3. tinned or frozen beans / legumes
4. assorted gluten free items / products eg: xanthan gum, tapioca starch
5. stock concentrates
6. cashews or macadamias
7. sugar
8. quinoa flakes
9. rice
10. red lentils!

9. Chocolate melts, choc bits and high quality chocolate for cooking (eg Valrhona)

1) Long life milk for custards and desserts
2) Cans of tuna
3) Parmesan cheese
4) Olive Oil
5) Chilli paste (sambal oelek)
6) White and red wine
7) Tomato paste
8) Curry powder and pastes
9) Honey
10) Cornflour
and many of the items the others have posted. Grow your own basil, parsley, coriander and thyme too if you can.

Between you all, you have covered everything!
Cant think of anything missing, just maybe some evaporated milk in icecubes in the freezer, and frozen fruit, for ice-cream making.....of course! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Good call bron - much of what I would need is in the freezer ready for blitzing - cubes of frozen stock, yoghurt, coconut milk, cubed meats frozen on flat tray then placed in bags so that they can thaw to be chopped partially frozen in the TMX.

Oh to be so organised Thermomixer plus have the room to store it all :P :P :P

Not that organised, truly. We have a largish chest freezer that I purchased when somebody gave me a half a side of beef two years ago. It would have cost more to buy the meat, so gladly accepted and now also have the freezer.
It really is great for freezing things on trays etc to store for later. lots of bags of cubes - Ok until the labels fall off !! Took out what I thought were chicken stock and fortunately defrosted one in the microwave and found that it was indeed fish stock !!
So, not that organised. ;D ;D

What, you don't buy those write on label , zip-lock bags Thermomixer! I had the chance of getting a chest freezer for nothing 4 years ago but DH asked me if I really needed it as I would only fill it ;D ;D I have a small freezer plus the fridge one and for just the 2 of us I really didn't need a huge chest freezer as well but I would have had fun filling it ;D ;D ;D My new year's resolution every year has been to use up what is in the freezers and start again but it just never happens.

Love the organisation Thermomixer!! A couple of years ago I got all excited getting set up with the Tupperware Fridgemates for all the fruit and vegies. Now, I've moved and they don't fit into the new (old) fridge.... so I'm really not organised. So we'll see what happens in August when I'm having a pantry makeover with all the tupperware stuff... lol!!

It's called sharing when peolpe use my ideas - no copyright on them. Probably find that I have stolen them from somebody anyway ;) ;)
I really love the fact that you can blitz the cubes of stock, rather than thawing/defrosting, and you're sharpening the blades !!!!

You must be new?? LOL - I'm too much of a hoarder and don't like parting from my stuff ;) ;D Although I moved about 8 or 9 months ago into a much smaller place and now coming to terms with the fact I'm going to have to part with some of my stuff... :'( :'(

LOL, yes, I am new! And I should be in bed, but I wanted to add an ingredient to the list that noone has mentioned .... ONION!
Am I the only one who automatically chops some garlic and onion, sautees with olive oil, and then looks at the rest of the recipe? :P

Kath, I agree. Onion and garlic are a great base for most dishes!
