Just a few words to introduce myself to this lovely forum. I am very happy to have found this forum, it looks so friendly and interesting. I am French, living between France and England (ie: work and family) and between trips to and fro I love cooking to feed the family of course but also purely for my pleasure - and hopefully my family's ;) .
My thermomix is definitely a lifesaver on weekdays but I feel I am underusing it, not because I don't use it often (I do) but because I tend to use it mainly for soups, sauces, risottos, breaddough and sometimes steaming but I know it can do so much more and it looks like this forum and your lovely contributions can really help me expand my rather limited repertoire.
Looking forward to that and hopefully contributing some recipes myself some time.
Next week is my hubby's birthday and we (ie: me, daughter 10 and son 17) would like to prepare a surprise gourmet dinner for him, any idea for quick and flashy recipes for the 'event'? I will go through the forum recipes of course but suggestions would be very welcome as there are so many possibilities... Thanks in advance :)

Hi Clemantine, welcome to the forum. It seems that the French have just discovered this forum as we had another new member the other day. Not knowing what type of foods you and your family like to eat, it is hard to give recommendations but if you check out CP's favourite list of recipes (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=6470.0), you will no doubt find something suitable. All her suggestions are linked to the recipe and you will find recipe reviews which are always helpful when trying to decide whether to make a recipe or not.
Good luck with your choices for this special dinner and I hope DH is suitably impressed with your efforts. Thanks for joining us, you will have fun on here.

Hi and welcome Clementine

Hello and welcome to the forum Clementine! :D
In regards to your husband's birthday dinner, I agree that CP's list would surely have at least a couple of dishes that he would enjoy. And I think it also depends on the weather you're having over there, if its cold you might be looking for cooked vegetable dishes, soups, casseroles and a cooked pudding, but if its cold maybe salads, non-fried rice, quiches and icecream or sorbet. And of course it depends on what you like to eat!
Have fun and don't be afraid to ask questions! ;)
