Title: well, had had my machine for two days now
Post by: sianon on July 24, 2009, 11:18:29 am
My thermomix arrived on Wednesday night.  SO far it has made porridge for breaky yesterday was a little thicker than I like so a little more liquid next time.  HAs also made a Yorkshire pudding (still not quite sure why DD 2 made that yesterday), cooked vegies for tea last night and today has made a batch of butterless scones, DD 2 'forgot' to add the butter, they were somewhat heavy but tasted good none the less.

DD1 seems to be scared of the machine, so have to show her how to use it over the weekend.

Tomorrow I am going to try the crumpet recipie form the recipie section here.

LOL - ???  - hope you and your daughter made the crumpets together.

Don't think they would have tasted as good were she to be a component of the crumpet mix  :o :o :o  Looks like something I would write.  I failed English in High School - true!!  Had to repeat it !!

MY first batch of crumpets did not work out, batter was way too think, although they still tasted good.
German potato soup is now cooking for dinner.  DD1 is grumbling at me as she wants to make orange juice :)

Had my machine for 2 days as well.  Sooooooooo  excited.  The butter milk bread my hubby loved, I made beef strog.  but the meat was tough, the flavour was a dream.  Made the stock, great!!!  Butter loved it..  Sorbet, I made lemon, but was a little lemonie but who cares.  Second night I made Apricot Chicken it was delicious but my veg was crunchie..  I had a smoothie for breakfast, perfect!!!  Some help would be just great.  I read in the sales speal the the Thermomix was great for cheaper cuts of meat (I didn't use cheaper cuts) any ideas.

Looking forward  to hearing more of your adventures..  Happy thermomixing

With the meat - if it was fillet or very good quality meat, then you may well have overcooked it.  One thing that I try doing is cooking at 80 or 90 degrees for longer times rather than 100.

Let us know what type of meat and what temp and time.

BTW - Welcome and go to the Welcome area and let's hear a bit more about you   :-* :-*
