Here we are again. You may tell us anything you like that might it might not help your SS.
-
I'll start.
Here is a news item about me! I love cooking,
I also like reading.
I do not like highly perfumed things as I have year round hay fever.
I enjoy travelling in the caravan and the occasional camping trip.
-
I'm using last years questions!
1. Sweet, Savoury or spicy ? Spicy/savoury wins for me. Not a fan of floral scents
2. My favourite type of cuisine is : Middle Eastern or Spanish
3. My favourite beverage is : White wine or a G&T. ( or tea if my brain is required to function)
4. My ideal holiday destination would be : Anywhere! South east Asia is always fun. Actually, home could be good as I could catch up on cooking and winemaking and distilling and gardening and home renovations and sewing and having time to 'chill' with DH.
5. My favourite TV show or Movie is : No TV so can't really answer this
6. Summer or Winter : Summer - pool, warm, veges and chillies growing, less clothes to wash 😉
-
Copying Bonsai and using last years questions 2
1. Sweet, Savoury or spicy ? Spicy/savoury would be my favorite.
2. My favourite type of cuisine is : Asian, love the different flavors each country has.
3. My favourite beverage is : Red wine, champagne or a G&T by the pool on a hot summers night, love crio and the occasional hot lemon and ginger drink. Don't drink tea or coffee
4. My ideal holiday destination would be : Anywhere! That I don't have to cook or clean.
5. My favourite TV show or Movie is : any English comedy.
6. Summer or Winter : Summer, hate being cold.
7. Chocolate: yes please lol hate white chocolate.
I don't wear perfume, love burning candles that don't have a strong smell.
-
Ok I am also following last years questions.
1.Sweet, Savoury or Spicy? Definitely spicy or savoury for me.
2. My favourite cuisines are without doubt Italian and Asian. Both are uncomplicated and rely on fresh simple ingredients for favour.
3.My favourite beverage's are NZ Sauvignon Blanc, Italian Pinot Grigio, NZ Pinot Noir and French Champagne although I do realise that our local wines of th above varieties are also very good.
4. My ideal holiday destinations' are Italy, Greece, Switzerland, NZ and anywhere in Asia. Also my country of birth the UK.
5. My favourite TV show's are British Comedy, British mini series and movies are Dances With Wolves, Dirty Dancing and Titanic, and that is only naming a few
6. Summer or Winter? I love both as nature intended although I do prefer to be warm than cold. But as Billy Connolly says there is no such thing as bad weather but instead a bad choice of clothing.
7. Chocolate must be Swiss and either milk or 70%+ Dark totally dislike white!!
8. Always wear good perfume everyday and like to have a good variety. Love burning candles also .
9. Most importantly all of the above mean nothing in comparison to my family and friends as they are everything in my life :-)
-

2. My favourite cuisines are Love anything, we have such a variety here.
3.My favourite beverage is Red wine

Lindt chocolate, if I eat it at all
Savory
Cuisine? Japanese at the moment
Prefer cool climate
Holiday? By the ocean
Love a good coffee or tea
Greatest pleasure is to spend time with family and friends
-
About me....i love food, any made with fresh ingredients and preferably love.
Family always comes first. Love, a house to smell of home baking and fresh flowers, dolphins in the wild, karri trees, a home cooked meal with family. Like to watch rom coms and lifestyle shows. Very sentimental. Feel blessed with my life.
Ps only writing this in the hope my SS does also!
-
I hope my SS sees this too so I can get a clue,
I am at the old fart stage of life and got this far by eating hot and spicy foods followed by cooling Australian sparkling wines , brilliant reds and exquisite whites.
I believe in downsizing and recycling so if my SS sent me something from their own recycling or re gifting I would be delighted.
I have.been good this year and am not expecting coal as I received last year. Not from.my official SS though. LOL!
I enjoy usefull practical things but am often thrilled by things completely and utterly frivolous.

I'm a bit like Gert, at this stage of life I have everything I want but will graciously accept anything that comes my way as it has been given a lot of thought. Love soaps, anything kitcheny, recipe books (probably not going to be buying a lot more but do like receiving them as gifts), I'm size 12 in tops, blue is my favourite colour but I'll wear any colour. In the end the choice is yours though as sometimes something just jumps out at you and says 'buy me' ;D
Have fun shopping everyone.
-
Thanks everyone. I had better add mine correctly.
sweet/ savoury. I love baking but enjoy both.
Cuisine. Don't mind at all.
Beverage. Cold water, Rose tea and coffee
Holiday destination. I love nature. Also love my time being totally spoiled in Singapore.
TV. I don't watch much apart from the news. Midsummer Murders. Occasional British show.
Summer or winter. Don't really like heat over about 32 degrees.
My favourite colour is blue and my kitchen is blue and off white.
Two early birds have advised me that their SS gift has been taken care of.
-
I'm only writing this if it will help someone:
Honestly, whatever you buy me I will love.
I'm the sort of person who can blend in anywhere but I love the colour red
I work from home, am a homebody and I intend to travel more
My style of cooking is probably "home style" but I love a challenge (one day I'm going to make the perfect macaron)
If I could invite a famous person to dinner, my first choice would be Oprah and if she was busy, Johnny Depp or Tom Hanks
...but then maybe dinner with Maggie Beer is more do-able
I can't live without baking paper in my kitchen
My star sign is Cancer (and I hate having that hang over me)
We've got a Vegie patch down the back, and I love picking fresh from there
I don't have any Botox
The best thing in life is laughing, and family comes second to that
I hate whingers and don't like people who are negative
I'd love to go through a mid life crisis and buy myself an Aston Martin and flashy clothes
The saying that comes to my mind first is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
My house decor is cream and black, and greeny brown/taupe
Funnily enough my pets blend in with the decor
Last but in no way least - I love surprises!
;D
-
Love it CP ;D You had better hurry up and perfect those macarons because on our market tour during forumfest, one of the stallholders told us they are on their way out ;) The new trend will be a cronut, - half croissant, half donut.
-
Who am I? I am a grandmother to 7 gorgeous grand children so I am no spring chicken. I love to cook just about anything and think thermie is just the best. I am a keen sewer and am currently working on a machine embroidered quilt, one of many. My favourite colour is blue. I don't like candles and can't wear perfume. My ideal holiday destination would be a trip to NZ where I could drink lots of their lovely Sav Blanc wine. My favourite time of year is autumn with cooler days and nights. I am a fairly quiet and reserved type of person but do have my moments when with friends.
-
I think this is a great idea - I know I'm waiting for my SS to post ... Maybe they have already???
My favorite colors are bright ones, love red and orange but have a blue and white theme going in my kitchen.
I love to bake and will often have dessert ready but no dinner.
My house is very small so I've always been reluctant to entertain but my goal in 2014 is to entertain more.
I have no garden but keep herb pots on my kitchen windowsill.
We are going to HK and Singapore in January and I can't wait - first overseas trip and 5 years and first for DS2.
I run a couple of times a week - If its hot, I stop at the petrol station on the way home and buy an icy pole 😳😳😳 (shhh it's my dirty little secret)
I had such a wonderful secret Santa experience last year - i wear my beautiful apron all the time. I am having a lot of fun stalking my SS this year to get a lovely gift for them.
-
I think I prefer macarons to cronuts. They have less calories and fat.
So CP keep practising the macaron. I have more failures than successes. They make a good Eton Mess though.
-
Love Eton Mess! Actually, love food (vegetarian / vegan) either sweet or savoury, but easy on the chilli.
Enjoy cooking, being lazy and my garden, when I get a chance to fight through the weeds.
Prefer warmer weather to hot or cold, love spring and autumn.
Get a buzz watching my neighbout's chooks and sheep grazing through our orchard (don't love the chooks when they dig up my vege garden - unless I've asked them to first because I need them to weed it!).
Don't drink much alcohol, mainly water or orange juice.
Love MJ's candles.
-
Two early birds have advised me that their SS gift has been taken care of.
Cricky some people are organised!!

I love everything about food – shopping, baking, cooking and sharing.
I love feeding people (my family joke that I have a need to feed!)
Bread and desserts are my favourite things to make. Cake is my favourite thing to eat ;D
I’m happiest at home pottering around my kitchen.
I love watching UK cooking shows.
I collect cookbooks (mainly from Australia and the UK).
I have way more cake tins and baking trays than I’ll ever need. But that doesn’t stop me buying more!
I love bright colours, but I tend to wear a lot of black.
I hate the taste of coffee.
I don’t like jewellery. The only jewellery I wear is my wedding ring (and I only wear this because as I make my DH wear his wedding ring, I have to wear mine).
I love my DH and our dog to bits. Family and friends are everything to me.
-
Well I like crafty things, making stuff etc, enjoy travelling, so like journals to write in, like holistic medicine, essential oils, candles, healing herbs, love books of any kind, enjoy magazines, white wine and dark chocolate, and cooking of course xxxxx🙋🙋😃😃

10. I just love food and cooking.....and love the spirit in which members from all around the world participate in such a special event :) I am sure I will love any gift that my Secret Santa chooses :)
-
I am so excited to be participating again this year. I really don't mind what I receive, as long as I don't have to share it with DH or the boys!! Is that mean?
I'm using last years questions too, but the answers are probably different to last year.

I would be happy with anything it is nice when someone else does the picking as it is often something you would never to think to buy yourself.
I don't drink coffee or alcohol.
Love colour.
-
Love surprises, favourite colour would have to be blue.
Now, where did I have to send my SS gift , South Aus or maybe Queensland, no I think is was NSW will have to go back and check. ;D
-
I am finding this very difficult as I am pretty easygoing and will be happy with whatever my SS chooses. I love the good things in life - family, friends, good food, good wine( but not chardonay or anything sweet) and quality chocolate( I'd much rather have a little bit of something good, than a lot of something ordinary)
I love spicy food, but would choose sweet over savoury any day. I love baking and am often found in the kitchen cooking, or on my iPad reading about food. I also enjoy reading fiction ,and keep meaning to find some time to get my sewing machine out.
You can probably tell from my forum name that green is my favourite colour, and tend towards bright colours. I'm not so fond of browns and dull colours.
I hope this helps my SS, but I'm not sure it will. Just keep in mind that this is supposed to be a bit of fun, don't stress over it too much as I will have a smile on my face just from the thought that someone I have probably never met has sent me a pressie.
-
Surprise me ss lol!! Will enjoy the surprise and this whole thing is supposed to be fun x
-
I love surprises too, and whatever my SS chooses will be perfect.
I am getting so much enjoyment from racking my brain and trying to come up with a good idea for my SS gift. I'm sure there is a lot more thought going into this than there is for family gifts! :D Actually I haven't even started thinking about Christmas apart from the SS!
I'm not stressing though, just enjoying the experience, as I'm sure my SS, like me and like all of us participating, is much more focused on the giving rather than the receiving. :)
-
It is entirely possible my SS gift is hidden in the pics I took in Tasmania and posted in another thread!!
Gert
-
I'll be happy with absolutely anything. I normally buy my own xmas pressie from my family, so having someone go out and get something just for me is a bit of a treat in itself! ;)
I love shopping for and making gifts, so enjoying participating a lot already.
-
I will be happy with anything that someone has taken the time to get me but in the interest of helping out my SS and in the hope that my recipient gives me some ideas I've decided to go with what I put up last year.
1. Sweet, savory or spicy: definitely Savoury
2. My favorite type of cuisine: Thai / Malaysian
3. My favorite beverage is: Sav blanc or sparkling - preferable Australian
4. My ideal holiday would be: Anywhere really, I love visiting and seeing new places
5. My favorite movie: I don't really have one, rarely watch movies and then when I do I don't remember them well enough!
6. Summer or winter: Summer for the warm nights and being outside and winter for being able to rug up.
7. Favourite colour: Dont really have one but would probably say a nice cobalt blue
8. When I'm not cooking I'm: Browsing the forum, surfing the internet, staying fit, time with family and I had to say it but work takes up a huge amount of my time, planning holidays
9. Something I want to make in the Thermomix but haven't done yet is: Nothing really , I'll give anything a go.
10. I don't really like: I have an allergy to perfumes and most things with a scent in them and don't eat seafood.
-
I have been putting this off as I can't decide what to say. Pitiful considering I write for a living ;D ;D.
My gorgeous apron and food throw from my lovely SS last year are admired by friends and family (and by me too each time I use them). Like many others here, I think it's wonderful that someone I probably haven't met is choosing a gift just for me. That's the very best kind of surprise.
SS is the perfect excuse to spend more time here to stalk a certain (chatty) forum member and to trawl through the shopping thread which I usually try to avoid. Happy days ;D
