I have received a thermomix as a joint christmas and birthday present from a dear friend who I have been supporting over the last few years. I recently split up with my husband who had destroyed my enthusiasm for cooking so this present is to rekindle my desire for producing good fresh food from scratch.
I am off to my local food coop tomorrow to buy veg and am looking forward to using my new toy this week.
I am fortunate that my two small children enjoy home made food and am delighted at the prospect of learning new recipes.

SS, welcome to the Forum. What a generous gift. You will certainly have a renewed interest in cooking with this machine. Use the recipes here and ask for help if you need it. Most of all have fun cooking.

Hello, SS - and a very warm welcome! You could spend hours and hours on the forum reading and collecting recipes, tweaks, hints, etc !
If you haven't already seen them, try these threads . .
http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=6470.0 This is a collection of tried, tested and true recipes by a long time forum member, CreamPuff63 It's a TMX cookbook in itself!!
Also try this (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=13567) one - apart from the very highly recommended beef stroganoff, scroll down a post or two for links to Chelsea (Thermie Groupie)'s wonderful recipes!
Looking forward to hearing more from you soon!! :D

Wow what a lot of lovely replies. You have made me smile so much. My kids are 3 and 4 (Althought the four year old is 5 this weekend).
My forum name is my old performance name I used to be a fire breather before I became a mum.
I am away to finally get the thermomix out the box as I was away for new yeasr and have not had a chance. Looking forward to our first thermomix meal tomorrow.
-
A fire breather, heavens to Betsy - mothering sounds so much easier to me but if you know what you're doing I guess not :D
Have fun with your TMX and do report back to let us know how your first meal went.
-
Fire breather, wow that's certainly different.
Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll enjoy your TMX.
-
Oh the irony have got all the ingredients to try a couple of recipies and end up being invited out for dinner. Normally I jump at the chance of not having to cook. This time I kept wishing I could just go home and play with my new toy.
-
Yes these tms are very addictive :)
-
Have fun SS. I am a newbie too and the Thermie is great.

Hi and welcome.

Well red and yellow pepper fussilli was mostly a success. I loved it and the wee man loved it too. Madam said she liked it but didn't eat much of it. I will definatly be cooking it again. :)
