Hi All,
Only new to the thermomix world, mine is being delivered tonight!! But one of the first recipes I wanted to try needed rapdura. After having trouble finding it, and where I could find it was ridiculously expensive.
I stumbled across a shop in Northbridge this morning that is AMAZING!! Lots of fresh products in wholesale.
Anyhoo...the point of my post was... Rapadura was only $6.30 per kilo!!!!
KAKULAS BROTHERS, WILLIAM STREET NORTHBRIDGE.
Check it out ;)

Welcome to the forum, jobear. You are going to have an exciting weekend with your new TMX ... enjoy it.
Sounds like a good find in Perth. A bulk supplier of good products is well worth cutlivating!

They are wonderful jobear. I manage to get there every now and then.

Looks like a trip to the city coming up; I don't do it very often since retiring. I tried Kakulas Sisters in Nollamara but they didn't have it in bulk form. Sometimes I use Billington's Light Muscovado (just looks like rapadura). They say on the packet that is Natural unrefined cane sugar.

I have quite a collection of the Billington's sugars. I find they give lovely flavours to the food.

Welcome to the forum jobear. How did your delivery demo go tonight?

Welcome jobear to the forum :)

It was Ahhhhh-Mazing!!!!!
I'm so in love :-)
We made vege stock and then I made milo tonight!! Kids were a bit unsure of the milo so I did a third thermie milo to two thirds milo mix and then 2 thirds thermie milo to 1 third milo...hoping to progressively turn them hah

Kakulas brothers and kakulas sisters (freo) are really good for loose produce. I've started ordering stuff online through 2 brothers. They are really well priced and I usually get my order within 2 working days. Delivery is very cheap too.

Cookie1, I agree about the Billingtons sugars; other than rapadura, I don't buy any other sugar, only the Billingtons.

I buy it in 5kg bags from www.2brothersfoods.com. Only $5 a kg. postage is a flat $3.50 in WA. They're very good with a high turnover, so fresh all the time. Quick delivery too. I get all my nuts, seeds, sugars and flours from there.
