Title: Waiting for 2nd bowl.... gggrrrrrr....
Post by: Nic-74 on May 26, 2014, 09:02:28 am
Anybody else waiting for a second bowl from last months special. My demo was 6 weeks ago and I just called Thermomix only to be told they won't be sent until September as they ran out. They said the promotion was "while stocks last" but they will be honouring all orders. It makes me mad that we have to wait until September, my demo was in the first half of the month and I also sold a Thermomix at my demo and that came within a week. They need to think about this promotion and make sure they have sufficient stock not to run out, surely they would have some idea on how man they would sell as they have had the same promotion before. Sorry rant over....... :)

Very disappointing Nic and poor service.
Look at it in the grand scheme. For me loosing my first DH to cancer is the worst thing that has happened to me, now my life is a walk in the park  :D Not an excuse for poor service. Think of the worst thing that has happened to you and then put it in comparison to having no second bowl for TMX.

You are very wise Mich. it is something we should do more often. I often think it is the end of the world if my apple pie boils over, but it certainly isn't.

Very wise words Michele. It really puts things in perspective.

Hi Nic I was fortunate. Not in any great hurry for it but it arrived last Friday. Have they charged you the money?

I'm sorry for the loss of your first husband Mich.

Read this post second to the other post going and as I mention I have just emailed my consultant about mine.  If this is the case it would have been nice to be contacted direct.  If it is a while stocks last offer then next time they should communicate this as this is the first I have heard about this.  The only reason my demo was at the end of the month was because my consultant & us were away for part of April.

I'm lucky I received a copy of Quirky Cooking before it sold out and I'm happy trying recipes out of this.  Its just a bummer it might be delayed as we are starting to get the hand of cooking bread & it would have been handy mmm ...

Anyway I hope HO learns from this experience and don't repeat it next time.

My consultant emailed me back. She confirmed they have just been notified about the delay & possibly to September. She has offered me the use of one of her spare bowls until it turns up which is lovely but whilst it be nice to have we can do without.

Stepping up on my soap box...

Not sticking up for TM HO... and certainly not picking on you Nic-74 (so please don't take this personally) but in my opinion ...  we really are a society of "Instant gratification" ...if that is the right words. We want things NOW, not tomorrow or next week and certainly don't want to wait a couple of months for something we have ordered and paid for.

I am guilty of this also. I ordered a part last Tuesday, they said it would be here Friday, still not here and I want it now! But guess I'm gonna have to wait while the camel train makes its way across the nullabor. (Last lot of camels I saw on the nullabor were all dead, so it may take a while... :-)))

I look at those refugee camps on the news as I sit in my comfy lounge chair sipping a glass of red after a luscious dinner, my kids and hubby and animals all snug and happy and see what they do not have and realise that sometimes we need to take a big step back and have a good hard look at how bloody lucky we really are.

Off my soap box now...

Sorry, I don't wish to be rude, but feel Nic's original post has been well and truly high jacked. She quite rightly complained of having to wait for a product, that she has entered into a contract with HO for.

I read in disbelief the comments to her post. Life is terrible and very sad, for everyone at different times. It doesn't mean she cannot say she is dissapointed in HO.

I agree ElleG.
Waiting potentially weeks or months for the delivery of a small appliance is crazy.
Sure sad things happen to good people but if a service is offered it is fair to expect that service.
Tmx has adopted a particular business model and good will is apart of that and it is reasonable to expect delivery of goods and services in a timely manner.
This is not good service.

I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone. Yes, we all have our share of life's harsh realities. It just puts things in perspective. As I said it is not an excuse for poor service or sloppy work, I think it has driven me to bring my standards up higher. I'm not making excuses for HO but they have a backlog, these things happen.

I saw a comment on Facebook (on a similar thread to this - discussing the delay) that there is wordwide shortage of the bowl and blade sets, due to its popularity.  HO just cannot get anymore now, as there are none in stock at the factory where they are made, or anywhere else in the world.  HO have to wait until they are manufactured and shipped to Aus.

I don't know if this is true, but if so the problem may not entirely be with Australian HO.

Isn't it great that we can all say what we feel/ think on here?  I do believe that is one of the reasons this forum is so great.
Mich I'm sure no one was offended by your post. We certainly learn about life as we progress through it, some lessons must be extremely hard to get through and others just plain annoying.

You are right Cookie and I certainly understood where Michele was coming from as I also have priorities in my life.

We have all complained about HO at some stage, whether it be poor recipes in their early books or lack of support from our consultant but I really think they have lifted their game and do the best they can these days.  Earlier I was going to say perhaps email HO and ask for an explanation but after reading Katie's post, the reason for the delay now seems to be explained.

Sometimes sharing a problem makes all the difference to how we feel and we certainly understand and accept that's what many of us do on this friendly forum.

I saw that on facebook too Katie. Bit of a disaster for those waiting. You couldn't even buy one is you were travelling overseas. :-\ :-\

I'm waiting too, annoying, but not the end of the world, but on another forum someone in NZ mentioned they were about to have a demo as their June special was the 2nd bowl special.  So the supposed world wide shortage, doesn't include NZ?

I'm sure it does Lisel but demos will continue and rain checks given I would imagine.  Consultants in NZ might still have stocks of the bowls though.

You know what this has just been all poorly handled. How hard would it have been for HO to send an email to its customer's advising them. You know a bit of customer service, rather than just leaving them in the dark and hearing third hand.
