Hello All,
The reason I am considering getting a Thermomix is that I am single and very busy so do not have much time to spend cooking. From what I gather from reviews and various websites the Thermomix would allow me to cook in less time than using traditional methods. Do you think this to be the case?
Also, do you generally only use the Thermomix or are you frequently having to use other kitchen appliances? I don't have many!
I will eat anything which probably makes things easier!

Hi Chris and welcome. I feel that the thermomix doesn't necessarily cook food faster. However my DD who works long hours loves it because she can put things on and leave them, knowing the thermomix will beep when it is cooked. She loves it for rice and pasta as well as all in one meals.

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum. Have you seen the TMX in action, been to a demo or know anyone who owns one? We all love ours here but at times most of us still use our slow cookers and air fryers as well. I had to use a saucepan the other night and to get to it, I had to remove all my cake trays to reach it - it's the first time I've used it in ages. It was to cook gnocchi but I later realised I could have cooked it in the TMX anyway :-)) If you eat anything, then soups, risottos & chicken curries are some of the quicker things to make and as Cookie said, once you have them cooking you can be doing something else whilst it cooks.
Best to see one in action first though.

I love my Thermomix, I have only had it for 4 weeks. It had enabled me to do some of the cooking again, something I have been unable to do since coming home from hospital. It save so much time and energy when it comes to mixing and stirring. I really feel it will be a great time saver for you, plus the recipes are so very delicious. You still need your oven, I use my slow cooker.

Thanks for the advice. I have not been to a demo yet - only seen it on Youtube. I would be the first of my friends to get one too!
I'll try and see one in action to see what it can do.

Like everyone else, I love my TMX. I am a bit different to most of the rest of the forum members who use their TMXs several times every day, in that I do all my cooking on a Sunday morning to freeze for the week. I can easily do the entire week's meals this way, with plenty of left overs for emergencies. The main thing is to be organised, weigh and measure all the ingredients for each dish before starting as using the TMX can be so fast if you are not ready with the next step you can easily lose the flow of the dish.

Attend a demo if you can and once you see the TMX in action you will be amazed at what it can do.

Hi Chris and a very warm welcome! I can't add anything further to the advice given by the others. A demo is certainly the way to go - I certainly would hate to be without my TMX now - it's opened up so many possibilities that I hadn't even considered before . .!

Welcome to the forum. If you don 't want an in home demo, perhaps you would like to attend a Basic Thermomix Cooking class.
If you go to the Thermomix homepage you will see a link to cooking classes. They are held all around the suburbs and country areas in most states. The classes are fun and you will learn heaps about Thermomixing.
I have had mine 4years now and find myself using the stove and oven less and less.

I think you need to consider what type of meals you enjoy. A thermomix won't be so helpful if you mostly eat raw foods or salads, but is wonderful for all-in-one meals, sauces and steamed foods. I work full-time but find i still have time to make my own bread and yogurt with thermomix, plus use it to make sauces, grind spices, cook rice, make whole meals etc. It doesn't replace every other machine in the kitchen but is a terrific time saver and helps make lovely meals.

As has been said, the thermomix doesn't actually cook more quickly but it saves a lot of time in that you don't have to stir or watch to make sure it doesn't boil over.
I was initially a little nervous about having a demo as i don't like to have a party and invite my friends to something that they feel pressured to buy or have a party so that i can get some sort of prize. I really don't like this type of high powered selling or using my friends for my benefit. Having said that I had a demo as i wanted to see one in action, apart from seeing the thermomix in action which was amazing for the first time I was highly impressed with the consultant. She did not pressure or coerce my friends at all during the presentation, nor did she pressure my the friends who showed some interest after the party was over. I spoke to her about how impressed i was with her presentation and it seems to me that the thermomix philosophy is not like the other party sale schemes that you may have been to in the past. So, if you are thinking of having a party i would say invite your friends along with the full assurance that they will not be coerced or pressured into buying a machine or to have a party themselves.
