Hi,
Just wondering if anyone could share their favourite main meal recipe with me please? I have a household of men who love their meat!! Or do you all mainly use the TMX as an aid more than for meal preparation. Thanks.
-
Hi patzee, like you I want to do most of my main meals in the TMX and not just use it for cakes, desserts, sauces & drinks. I found the recipe books very uninspiring but there are some great recipes on the forum. My favourite are:-
Fillet Mignon with mustard sauce (pork)
Moroccan Lamb
Beef & Guiness Stew
Mini Italian Chicken Ballotines
Chicken croquettes
Rabbit stew (I use chicken)
Thai Chilli Chicken
Spiced Chicken & Sweet Potato
Baf65's all-in-one chicken meal
Pork & Potatoes
Beef & beer casserole
These are what I have done so far and are my favourites. Many others to still try.

Thanks so much Judydawn, your so kind! Made a few things from various sources, and have been disappointed. I will definately try the recipes you have recommended. I'll let you know how I went. Have used 2 five kilo bags of flour so far (in 1 month), but I want to do more than just make bread, custards and white sauces. Love making bread though! Regards, Patsy

hopefully the meat cookbook will be out soon!

Think that the meat book may still be a little way off, but hopefully not too far.
Patzee - let us know what sorts of dishes you used to cook for the men in your life, what you have tried and what sorts of dishes might interest you.
Do you eat Italian/ethnic/asian foods?

The Tassie tmx cookbook is also in the making. I'm sure Fee and the consultants will have found some yummy mains to include in that one too.

Thank you for the list JD. There are a couple that I haven't tried on there so I will include them in my menu plan for next week. Your pork and potato dish sounds very yummy. My DH loves pork so he will be very pleased. :)

??? I have only heard it referred to as the Tassie cookbook. It is to raise money for the Tassie Devils. I'm guessing it is the one.

You poor young thing Chelsea - the Esk Valley Cookbook is an old (like me) classic - long out of print, Just rang my mum, she still has a copy.
It looks like the copies in the national Library have been stolen too http://catalogue.nla.gov.au/Record/1169790 (http://catalogue.nla.gov.au/Record/1169790), so no point in brazen going down to check them out.
