I am sure many of your have realised that the number of posts on the forum is dropping. The Moderators have been in deep discussion with MM over this. We feel the forum has perhaps become a bit "old hat" and nowadays it has to compete with many blogs, Facebook, twitter, Instagram and goodness knows what else.
This is one of the reasons we have initiated the challenges. Thanks Gert for starting one before we did. :-* :-*
We fully understand that everyone leads very busy lives and appreciate all the regulars dropping in when ever they can.
Does anyone have any brilliant ideas to stir up the forum please? We'd love to hear about them.
MM has mentioned that the forum will have a makeover, but that may be some time away.
Judy and CC please add in anything I haven't mentioned as I didn't save the preview I sent you. :'( :'( :'(
-
I thought numbers had dropped....I recommend www.forumthermomix.com to all my thermomix friends, they have found that it takes a little while to learn to navigate.
If members mention and give links to the website when viewing (appropriate) Thermomix posts on Facebook pages (Skinnymixers, Thermobexta, 12wbt and I'm sure there are heaps of others with lots of followers...).
I really think a "pin it" to Pinterest would be great as it would enable people to both save and share recipes with a wider audience (killing two birds with one stone).
I know I don't post as much as I used to either but always pop in as I get so much inspiration from all the wonderful people here!!!
-
Thanks for that. I will give this link to MM so that he can read forum members ideas.
-
I also realised that the numbers of posts have dropped off, as have the recipes, which were the lifeblood of this forum when I joined. I think the recent challenges have been great and inspirational in this respect and hope they grow and grow (maybe we should link the challenge recipes into the various categories so that they don't get lost???)
I am one of the ones who doesn't always post as much as I should, but I hope that will change soon with the advent of a new staff member in the near future (which will allow me to sneak away and check the forum more regularly)!
The moderators do a brilliant job and I hope some great ideas come from the brainstorming on this thread. I would be so sad if the forum deteriorated to such an extent that it was no longer viable. If I can help in anyway, please let me know.
-
Please don't feel guilty anyone, you are all so important to our forum. That is the last thing I wish to do. You are very busy people and we understand.
Hugs to everyone.
-
For me it would be great to see some sort of recipe formatting template so that recipes could be automatically imported into the many recipe programs and apps that are around now. If there was a way of tagging the posts so that you know if it has been saved/read/favourited would be helpful as well.
The only other thing is whether the forum is staying very thermomix centric or interested in opening up to other thermal blenders. The reality is that there are many on the market now with more arriving all the time...there seems to be an image problem with the forum amongst a few people I have spoken to who feel that the forum is unwelcoming to people who have other machines. I don't know that it is even the amount other forms of social media that is the major problem as it is that the site can be a little intimidating...I'm probably not expressing myself well but reading back through some of the posts, it gives the impression that if you don't have a thermomix, you don't belong here, and don't discuss other machines because that isn't allowed.
I think that this forum has lots to offer everyone and it still is my first port of call when I'm looking for information or recipes...I would love to see the forum grow even better.
-
I have joined the Bellini Addicts page on FB these gals seem to mainly be young mums and really could use some help using their machines. We all know what we think of the Bellini but they are selling a zillion of them. Seems that the feeling is when they break down just go get it replaced and Target. Fine if you do not value reliability and it seems they don't . Anyway they are struggling so I joined to se if I could help in a small way. I think they would be intimidated by this forum as well.
Anyway I digress , I post a lot of links to this forum.
And I have to say that Vorwerk is finally waking up to using social media as well.
Oh boy my beet bread is sooooooooo good.
Gert.
-
Has there been a gradual decline or just recent?
I have noticed that a lot of new buyers in our area are young people with families. Many of these woman work. They have very little time for the Forum. When I was working I would not have had the time for the Forum.
ES has a different machine but is a valued member of the Forum and a very good baker. She post adaptions for TMX recipes.
Also, the Community has improved their site and although I find the recipes there sometimes unreliable, it must still collect people who would otherwise join the Forum.
I agree that the increase in TMX related sites are competition , and must take away from the Forum.
What to do about it, I don't know. Perhaps informal group meetings in our own areas.
-
I'm so glad the bread is nice Gert. I am pleased with my paler version.
I see what you mean Stacelee. Quite a few people on here have other thermomix machines. Obbie has several, ES has a thermochef, Emme a HMP and I think a thermomix I have a HMP. You do have a valid point though. I'm sure MM will see it when he reads through this thread. ( I have sent him a link).
All thoughts and hints are gratefully received. Thanks.
-
I'm thinking maybe highlighting the unique strengths too....
*help usually within hours of asking a question
*One thing of particular mention is the review section where there are reviews of every recipe from every thermomix book....
Also with the 'time' issue, I know it can be time consuming to trawl through posts.
A superior search function may assist.
-
I must agree about the search function. I have spent ages looking for a recipe that I know is on here somewhere. I now use Judy's strategy. I google the recipe with thermomix after it, that usually gives me the link. :)
-
Marina, we will put TMX recipes into their respective categories once this challenge is over and we move onto the next one.
That's the way to go Cookie, if it's there Mr Google will find it.
Thanks for those positive remarks Jamberie.
-
I love this forum. It's my first port of call in looking for a recipe, although I use google's search function to find recipes by typing in what I'm after, followed by "thermomix forum"
I've always felt welcome here although I don't have a thermomix, and I've had very few failed recipes cooking forum recipes in my ThermoChef.
This forum doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other social media sites, and it is a little clumsy to navigate, but the recipes are first class and the conversations are friendly and supportive. There is always a ready answer to a problem and members readily share information.
I admit that my posts have dropped off in the last few months because I have been busy on another project that has taken a lot of my time and energy. That project is now up and running, and I now have more time to spend here :)
-
I know I don't post many recipes, I think that is because this forum has so many to offer. I love the feedback from everyone on all the recipes and how fine tuned they are because of this and I love the contact with like minded people.
I know because of this forum I use my machine constantly and cook heaps of things I wouldn't have tried otherwise.
Even a wonderful holiday in Adelaide all because of this forum.
I imagine the new machine release will prompt many new and varied conversations.
I love this forum the variety of wonderful recipes and the three wonderful moderators and wonderful members, perhaps it's just a natural ebb and flow!
-
When I first joined the forum there were a lot of recipes being converted and cooking advice/chat galore (just look at how many pages the bread and yogurt recipes generated). I wonder if some new forum members or guests are put off a bit as the most active threads now seem to be 'chit chat' about pets, shopping, what we had for lunch, what the kids are doing etc. the forum seems to be gradually moving away from the original intent as the most active members are thermomix veterans who know so much about their machines that discussing exactly how to make good icing or mayonnaise is 'old hat'. Whilst this is not a criticism as many members obviously enjoy the social talk and conviviality, I wonder if those looking for a purely cooking focused group go elsewhere or fade away?
-
This forum is an amazing resource and I relied very heavily on it when I first got my thermomix. I still always refer to the advice here when making something new or wanting to improve on something. It's also very well managed and one of the only forums that isn't afflicted by trolls.
There has been a bit of it lately, but perhaps it might help to feature some of the great recipes in the forum and sharing ideas of how they can be modified.
Navigation is definitely a challenge and I agree with all the comments here about the search facility.
The recipe book reviews are excellent but the section of the forum they are all in is not very user friendly. If each book was a child board and then each recipe was a thread that would probably make it easier to use and might encourage more input.
Maybe encourage users to post about how they use their thermomix. That could make it feel more accessible. There are all ranges of people that use thermomixers in different ways but it sometimes might come across that this forum is only for those who use it everyday for every meal which is certainly not the case. Also, encourage everyone to add more value to their posts. For example, in the what are you cooking today thread, just saying "cakes and biscuits" doesn't mean much. Linking to a recipe or describing more about what you are doing adds much more richness to the forum. Same for recipe feedback. If it's a great recipe, talk about what you think is great about it.
Also, I think there are too many sticky threads in chit chat that don't need to be there. If more current threads appeared on the front page then you might find there are more comments. My recommendation would be to trim it back to two or three stickies or see if the first page can be expanded to show another 10 or so threads.
When I bought my thermomix and mentioned this forum I had a very cold reaction from the consultant (I didn't know of any controversy at that point). That might also be part of the problem, new users are put off early. Also, I had tried signing up three or four times over several months before I had success. So, maybe we are missing out on new members because of the difficult sign up process.
I think it's a sign of how great the forum is that the moderators are asking how to improve it and liven it up. All three moderators do an exceptional job at looking after this great online community.
Another thought: what about a separate area for other appliances? The forum is also a great resource for them and it might be useful to have the pie make, pizza maker, air fryer, dehydrator etc etc stuff all together.
-
I love the forum and the friends I have made on here all around the world.
It is my first port of call fo recipes, to the extent that I don't have paper or even electronic copies... Never had time and it has usually worked for me.
Currently not posting much, or even coming on much to read owing to serious illness in the family. I miss you all, and so want it to keep going.
Maybe I need to find a way to catch the recipes in case it ever goes down?
I tried paprika and it didn't work for me. I just don't have time to learn a new app.
-
Just catching up and your title got me in Cookie. I also haven't been a regular for awhile. Will be home in a couple of weeks so hope to be back on board. I agree with Chookie that young Mum's may not have the time to drop in on a regular basis. I know how busy my daughters are and they do rely on me for recipes from the forum. Your idea Chookie of local group's is a good one. Several months ago a group was formed near me. We try to meet once a month, each of us brings something we have made for tastings and also give out the recipes.
-
I really like the idea of forming local groups, certainly, I know when I first got my TMX it would have been invaluable and I remember going all over this forum wherever I saw anyone in Victoria, trying to make a personal contact ... it worked once or twice, but not very successfully. I have since met several members and even consider those I haven't met personally to be friends.
I suspect that a problem with a local group is that those participating may gradually become more involved with the group and move away from the forum itself; thus becoming independent of the forum. I'm not saying that local groups are a bad thing at all, I would love to be involved in a local group, but unless those participating actively posted about their group on here, sharing thoughts and recipes, this could result in a drawing away from the forum instead of a support to the forum.
I must say it was certainly more dynamic when I joined but I have always found the forum to be a huge support and am saddened that we come across to some as aloof, unfriendly, cultish, etc. I think, like most forums with a mixed membership, you have to just keep posting and coming back a few times to begin to start to get to know us and understand where we come from. I have learned so much since joining and hope we can pull the forum back from the funk it seems to be headed in at the moment.
-
I don't post very often but do come on and read the forum every day. I think it comes down to there being so so many blogs, facebook pages etc also available. I am pretty internet savvy so I tend to google many sites for recipes prior to coming here.
Someone previous also commented on it but this forum does have a reputation for being very thermomix-centric. Since I joined it does seem to be more welcoming but in my early days I noticed a very uncaring and almost derogatory attitude towards other brands. Now I have a thermomix but I have family members who have other branded thermo cookers due to financial situations. The negativity here surrounding those brands has turned them away from ever posting here. Everything I do in my thermi, they can do just as well in their's. It can become rather annoying to see negative comments over and over. Their cookers may have had issues but not each and every one does (one family member has had a B cooker since they were released without one single issue so to hear the same spiel turned them away before any starting).
Just my 2c worth.
-
There are a lot of good suggestions here and I agree with Bonsai about value added posts and maybe some threads should be retired.
Keeping the chit chat is important for many of us . Anything goes for Uni is, well, a good safe place for all of us friends to keep in thouch and one I value very much even if it has nothing to do with Thermomixing.
Basically it needs tidying up big time, more well defined recipe threads and a better search engine. Big job and MM may have to spend money doing it.
There are so many very good blogs, Facebook, pages and so many many more owing thermo machines that it is hard to keep up.
I found with the Bellini group they seem not to have any time so they use FB. You see the same questions being asked over and over and over because they don't have time of can't be bothered to look any further. and let's face it some are just lazy. That market is growing like Topsy. Some of these machines are lasting a year or more while some last only a few weeks of even days. This does not curb their enthusiasm and they are wanting conversions more and more. I don' t know how MM would thing about encouraging those many groups to join or he may be interested in a Bellini forum which is sorely needed.
The shopping thread is a very good resource but it is probably our laziness that we have not defined the shopping into their own simply named maybe sub threads, like baking needs , air fryer, donut maker, refrigerators, coffee makers. Ovens etc. we laugh about the shopping but it is really useful especially the reviews.
Some times it does seem like a few of us have taken it over just to chat but we keep it to a few threads and if people don't have an interest reading about the minutiae of our lives they can stick to the cooking part. I feel we have created a caring community here and whether we are here all the time or just pop into it from time to time or when we need some company , it is important and I would hate to lose that.
I some times go to the "most recent posts" and of course the "show unread posts" is a quick way to catch up.
Whatever happens it is this crazy kitchen machine that has kept us together for 5 years. But every five years we all need to clean house, get rid of the chaff and new makeup.

Wow, what an interesting thread -- so much here and so much to respond to I'm not sure where to start....
1) Really? I mean is it really noticeable that 'numbers have dropped off'? ??? Compared to what? The numbers here are huge. (Are people unsubscribing?) The forum feels lively, the members are still passionate. I always did and still do consider this forum a huge success. Okay, I'm not here nearly as often as I once was but that is due to two things a) life is busier now both online and offline and b) there is more 'competition' for my attention.
2) I don't like the word "competition" because I feel wherever we go online to speak up, we're doing so to celebrate this amazing machine, not to 'compete'. What I mean by competition is that there is SO MUCH MORE out there now about Thermomix. When I first came online to research the machine August of 2009, this forum was IT -- the only true, supportive and responsive resource. :o There were a handful of bloggers, but this forum was far and above the rest. Let us not forget (and many new members will not even realize this as they've not been around that long) that at the time this forum established itself, there was no 'official' online presence for Thermomix in the English-speaking world. Vorwek had almost no online presence and what they had was not useful to fans in Australia (at that time, and still today most English speaking fans are based in AU). Even the distributors in various countries were not on board yet with being online. When I set up my first website about Thermomix to counter-act this paucity of info I was told by my country's distributor to "take it down"... and that websites about Thermomix were "not allowed". So in the face of all that, this forum was a leader. It's a whole new challenge altogether to continue to be a leader when Vorwerk and Thermomix have an increasing web presence and social media influence (http://www.superkitchenmachine.com/2013/19992/thermomix-social-media.html). And so they should.
3) Facebook is what it is. Someone has already pointed out that people on facebook are in a hurry and the same questions are being asked over and over again. So true! Facebook has taken over as the most popular playground for Thermie fans. I am not comfortable on fb, so I do not thrive there. I'm actually quite shy and not used to publishing "everything for all to see". Maybe that's why I always felt so comfortable here, because this forum felt so intimate and the contacts here felt like friends, before the days of facebook. Even though I have a facebook page, it's not where I hang out. And I certainly can not (or do not) type such long-winded and heartfelt responses on facebook as I am doing now.
4) Change. Oh change. It happens SOOO much faster than ever before. In the past five years I've become an old lady who resists change. If I were younger I'd be texting behind my back and and instagraming with my toes while balancing the Varoma on my head. Not gonna happen! Give me the good ol' forum any day. Please don't change it too much. :'( Okay, never mind. I know things have to change. :-\ But one thing is for sure, things will never be as they were before! There are more social platforms now and there are more Thermo-fans out there using them all. I don't think you can strive to have everyone come to your platform, (unless of course you are Vorwerk...) so what I have chosen to do on SuperKitchenMachine is just keep doing what I do, as I do it, and expect to attract a fraction of that big "tribe" of Thermo-lovers. I'm not greedy, I don't want it all, but I'm happy for the few who do visit my blog :) and thankfull to those who also shop in my store. :-*
5) Dear forum, have I told you lately that I love you? :-* ;) :-* I didn't like it when some people suggested you were exclusionary. I mean, this is after all ForumTHERMOMIX. It's not forumThermalBlend or forumCookingGadget. I love that bolder Thermo-fans can come here and really speak their mind while those of us who are less bold can sit back behind the screen and nod our heads in agreement.
xoxo

Well I come here daily to chat, But I cook with my Thermomix and HMP daily, and all weekend. is what I do. Cook.. :D I
My thermie is 5 years old October, and I still have heaps of recipes to try.
I post a fair bit, make heaps of recipes from here. Love to catch up, Love Secret Santa, and the challenges, and the shopping thread. ( like the idea of sub threads, as so many have pizza machines, air fryers)
I love the recipes and then just to change them a little bit.
The reviews of the cookbooks, on what to buy.
I am not into Facebook, so I don't go there.
Also, so many consultants seem to quit, if you need updates, this is where it is.
I would reduce the sticky's on the first page.
still the best place to come, and the resources are great. :)

Bravo Helene. What a wonderful read. Everyone is contributing so well to this thread which is what we want and hopefully MM will take all suggestions on board and do what he thinks is necessary. I agree, if people only want recipes then it's simple to check out the different categories on the home page or google the type of dish you want to make (adding the word forumthermomix after it) and you will probably find a link there back to the forum.
1) Really? I mean is it really noticeable that 'numbers have dropped off'? Huh? Compared to what? The numbers here are huge. (Are people unsubscribing?) The forum feels lively, the members are still passionate. I always did and still do consider this forum a huge success. Okay, I'm not here nearly as often as I once was but that is due to two things a) life is busier now both online and offline and b) there is more 'competition' for my attention.
.
Numbers visiting each day are not down apparently Helene but there was a time when, if you were out all day there would be 2-3 pages of postings to read when you returned. Nowadays there are sometimes only a handful. At all times there are more visitors online than members and many visitors who do become members never post. I don't understand why that is. OK I understand many people work full time and are very busy with their families but if you use a recipe from the forum, how long would it take to make a comment.
Thanks everyone, keep those thoughts coming. :-* :-*
-
I think by it's very name, this forum is exclusionary.....and that is fine if that is what everyone wants it to be. When the forum was first started, the Thermomix was really the only thermal blender that was on the market....since then there are many others that have been released and some are definately of similar quality to the Thermomix and being brutally honest there may even be some that will be better than the Thermomix (one of the original food processor companies Robot Coupe will finally be releasing the Robot Cook into other marketplaces apart from France). There is nothing wrong with being exclusionary...there are lots of forums that are ie. the Jeep forum, the ASX forum (can you tell I"m a car geek)...If we want to increase the "posts" on the we could look at whether it is still relevant to be primarily a Thermomix forum or whether it is time to open up to other blenders.
As I said earlier...I would love to see recipes formatted differently...particularly if there was some way of putting the variations/tweaks/improvements higher up so you don't have to trawl through 10 pages of posts to see what people have changed.
-
I'm one of those who has not posted lately. I don't do the Chit Chat section at all. I just don't have time. I have been using FB , Recipe Community and blogs for my recipes. I find the Recipe Community to be an excellent resource.
I agree that the forum should stay as a Thermomix Forum. That is it's name.
ES, I know you have a TC, that's fine and you manage well without asking questions about how to use your machine or how to convert to your machine. But, frankly, I would get tired of seeing posts where people are asking how to convert to their specific machine. There are FB pages and blogs out there for each of these machines.
I'm not interested in reading about Air Fryers or any other machines. I come here for Thermomix recipes and discussion.
What I would like to see is:
1. If someone posts a recipe, just comment on the recipe, your tweaks etc. Do not go off on a tangent, making the post 23 pages long.
2. Ditto for other posts about a particular topic. Start a new one instead. (and I know I'm as guilty as anyone!!)
3. I'd like to see more Child Boards instead of recipes getting lost among everything else.
4. Like the Recipe Community, I would prefer the forum to be separate from recipes. I like the way the recipes have photos, yet there is still room for comments. It's my go to now for Thermie recipes.
5. I love the Recipe Book Review page. It's probably the section I use the most.
When I first joined this forum there was nothing else. It was a brilliant resource and I treasured the time I spent talking to all you lovely people. Now, there is a plethora of FB pages, FB groups, blogs, etc to explore. For me, it's simply a time issue.
Thanks for the opportunity to comment.
-
I think it is a good discussion as to what we want. What we use. What we don't use.
It seems we may need more specific boards so people can just head there and don't have to troll .
I would have zero interest in a child Board say or a gluten free board but they would be of interest to many
Unlike MJ I love it when people go off on a tangent because it makes us communicate and not just answer a question. I think that is what makes this a safe place and a fun place where we can make friends and not just use it for information.
Having said that I get what MJ is saying. Time is short and some just want to get info get on with it and not have a conversation.
I think we have to decide what we want to be as we are trying to be all things for all people bar other Thermo users.
I am happy if this is exclusively for Thermomixers plus others and like MJ would be bored to death with endless inane questions from some others.
I do think our forum is a bit more sophisticated than the recipe community as we have a wealth of very cook cooks here willing to share tested recipes . If there is a fail then we can help figure it out
The way we communicate with each other is what makes this forum unique. And we can have a discussion without being nasty or personal when we disagree.
Seems this forum is not just all about cooking in the Thermomix and that is why I am here.

I have young kids and work so I don't have much time for the chit chat threads but that doesn't put me off coming to the forum. I always view unread topics and noticed over the last year that many of the unread posts are in chit chat rather than new recipes or reviews.
Whilst I rarely post in 'what's for dinner' I do like to go in there and grab some inspiration when I am struggling for dinner ideas.
The parts of this forum that I love are the recipes and recipe book reviews. I would love it if you could create a recipe book as such of your favorites. CC has her favorites list which has helped many new users - would be great if all members could have a recipe book of sorts where you can link to favorite recipes on this site - maybe like a Pinterest board? You can then have the option of making your receipe book public or private. That way new users could get inspiration from looking at experienced users favourites.
I would prefer it stay thermomix focussed - if I had to go through conversions for every different type of machine then I would be less likely to use the forum and it's recipes.
I have also found the shopping thread very useful - often people recommend products that work well in conjunction with a thermomix and I have definitely purchased a few.
Could we have a recipe of the week - that way we can highlight some of the great recipes that are on this forum that have been forgotten. I love a lot of Isi's, nayNay's and thermomixers recipes and it's a shame that some of the newer members may not see them because they are so far down in the lists.
And a final request to improve the search feature! I use this a lot (mainly because I want to find a recipe) but it returns the same results over and over. The ability to just search over recipes instead of the whole forum would also be useful and reduce the amount of search results - when I am looking for a recipe I just want recipes and recipe reviews - not everytime it has come up in chit chat.
I love the forum and think it is a wonderful resource - I much prefer it to recipe community.
Oh, - promise last thing - can you make it compatible with Paprika so I can access my recipes offline - when I am at the supermarket trying to remember ingredients!

A few thoughts...
Layout needs to be modernised, updated and streamlined – currently out dated and basic
Keep the website theme focused to Thermomix. Other kitchen brands are not discouraged however we are specifically Thermomix related and therefore there may be differences in the way the recipes are adapted to suit different appliances.
FAQ’s for troubleshooting eg. My blades are not spinning and possibly for general queries eg. What should I make first. (Could be separate to chat theads so as not to get confused)
Photo’s easier to upload, same with linking recipes. Instructions to do this where every new member can access or to be very straight forward.
Tips on how to navigate and use the website effectively.
Most current and popular topic threads limited on first page to say 10 topics and then another 10 on second etc and then as the number of replies drop off they are then “archived”. Perhaps even just one open chat thread where people jump on and say stuff like how’s your day going or general unrelated TM things
The ability to rate forum recipes eg. 5 star system
Recipes that are rating high to be at the top of the recipe section
The ability to print off a photo with a recipe and not include comments
The ability for moderators to insert “Variations” eg. Tips and tweaks, that other people have suggested to be included just under the recipe, and included in a print off if required
Regular Challenges and Competitions. Not that a reward should or may be necessary on every occasion but perhaps to give incentive for more people to post their recipes, some sponsorship in the way of freebies can be contributed in return for announcement of cooking classes, recipe books, and cooking related products

Yup CP MM needs a web master to do the work. Big job.

I really love the comments that are appearing here. Thank you all for being so honest. I have only skimmed them at the moment but plan to sit down and digest each one carefully. Ill also re send the link to MM telling him that there are some great ideas here. Thank you all and keep them coming.

This forum is usually the first thing I log onto each day when I can. I feel that over the time I have been a member I have never felt unwelcome even though I did not originally purchase a Thermomix but have since bought one because of this forum. So I now have two machines. There are other sites mainly facebook where the other machines are featured and support can be found. I don't do facebook very well and only joined that to follow family. This forum has influenced what I buy (shopping thread)(bank account is definitely worse off) and I have been extremely grateful for the forum friendships that have been formed even though I have never met anyone from the forum. I do like the chit chat section as having not travelled all that much or not having grandchildren I can share in the travels and joy of others. The messages I received when my sister died recently were greatly appreciated and helped immensely. Most of the things I cook have recipes already on the site, so I don't feel it needs clogging up with repeats. I do comment on the ones I really like. Maybe if the additions or alterations to the original could be posted closer to the original it may help. I don't know whether a box underneath the original could be put so that if someone has an addition/alteration that they found worked they could post it so that it appears straight underneath the original. I have printed them out and made notes on the original in my own case.
To me the divide is there between chit chat and recipes and the welcome section. For those that are only interested in recipes that is where you go. News and updates for the machine are also separated. The moderators do a fantastic job to keep the forum running and really it is as Gert said unique in that there are many on hand with experience in many fields to answer or advise. I feel we can share a problem, a joke, news, (either sad or happy) and share recipe successes and feel others can laugh with us (not at us) with our failures whether beginner or not. It is a great forum but people will only get out of it what they put in. I had heard from another forum that this one was very unfriendly but not believing all I am told had to find out for myself. Most of these had never joined or posted but still were very ready to criticise. The first time I posted was in the chit chat thread for Uni, I said Goodmorning and I think it was Uni that responded with a welcome and the rest is history. :D :D

Just as a matter of interest I wonder what others do. I have it set up so. I have the most recent reply first but when I need the original recipe I go straight for the last page.
Gert
-
Ditto here Gert. The recipe is pretty well always on the first page, which is the last page. Clear as mud. 8)
-
I've done it backwards - the first page has the recipe with oldest to newest posts.
It suits me as I like to read the recipe and the first members to try the recipe and all the variations and tweaks along the way. :)
-
I love the forum, come on as often as I can (but with a young family it is not as often as I would like!!)
I also have felt a bit of an outsider looking in whilst not cooking after my wrist injury - no one made me feel that way, I just felt like I was not making any worthwhile contribution so haven't posted much. :(
It can be a little tricky to find the exact recipe at times, but love the way the question only has to be asked and someone will help to find it :-* :-* :-*
-
I love the Forum! I know I don't contribute a lot, but I do enjoy reading others comments. I love The Chit Chat and many of the sub headings under it. I'm always busy and don't use Facebook or Instagram.
I love the recipes.....I love the URL's listing the many Thermo blogs......I love the book reviews, need I go on. Lol
-
All I want to say is I love this forum and tell everyone I know who is buying a TMX to go on this one. I also know when I see who has converted a recipe that it will work (I won't name name's in fear of missing someone out) but we all know those with specialities! Also, there are more cookbooks out there now. When I first bought my TMX, this blog was really it for me and the EDC book. I agree it needs a revamp with finding recipes and could just do with a new 'look', but hey, if it ain't too broke, don't fix it.
-
Just as a matter of interest I wonder what others do. I have it set up so. I have the most recent reply first but when I need the original recipe I go straight for the last page.
Gert
Me too. I always click on unread threads. I am very pleased to hear everyones comments on general chat. It was my intention to enquire either at our next coffee get together or Hobart, what every felt with regard to this. I feel that many users here are now my friends ( even some i have never met) and i love the "pen friend" element and would hate to lose that. However I have wondered if others get annoyed with the chat. I love it when others share their lives ( holidays etc) .
Its really nice reading everyones opinion.
-
I am new to the forum but it is my first port of call when I need to know something; it took me long enough to join and work out what to do. Still learning. I have no problems with chit chat because it is in its own section and why shouldn't people chit chat (just like having pen friends when we were in primary school). I would love to see a print button (hope its not already there and I cant find it). Also what is a sticky thread (sorry if its a dumb question). Perhaps some of us new members should all post some recipes.
-
troupie, a 'Sticky' is a thread that is permanently attached to the top of the page in that particular section. It will always stay at the top even when new posts come up.
That's another point I meant to make - way too many stickies.
-
Troupie there is a print button. At the top of each posting, parallel to the number of pages there is a row of blue buttons. The last says "print" and has a little printer symbol too.
A "Sticky Thread" is a topical subject that is kept near the top of a relevant section.Moderators have access to the "Sticky Button "

Some of the problems we have with using the Forum are of our own making. For example, my photos via Tapatalk are always too big. I can get them the correct size for my Blog. I know it is my problem. I am not at all good with the computer and really don't understand what I am doing. It is only through the patience and good will of the moderators that I survive,
Posting recipes is also very time consuming. It takes me a couple of hours to type a recipe and post it on both my Blog and on the Forum. This is usually after a couple of cooking test runs with a new recipe to make sure it works. So I am not at all critical of those who don't post new recipes.
Every now and then I think I will stop posting converted recipes. This is particularly the case when someone takes one of my recipes and publishes it as their own.
I am writing this as it may help in understanding why some people drop off from posting.
-
This forum is my first point of call now for recipes, despite my large collection of books.
I like the interaction, the friendship and the jokes. And I like the opposite seasons with being in the UK, compared to the majority of the the other members.
When DH comes home after his cancer treatment I will be making ice cream, to cheer him up, and of course I shall get the recipe from here.
Unsurprisingly I have lost my cooking and baking mojo a bit in the last few months, however this would still always be the first place to look. I don't do FB at the mo.
-
1) I'm a relative newbie but I check this forum at least once per day. I will definitely agree that at first it was intimidating- a very active 10 or so posters with thousands of posts each, yikes, the "cool group!" But the beautiful thing is that any new person posting an introduction or question will see multiple enthusiastic responses from these same "cool kids." It's a very pleasant surprise, but it takes a bit of guts to make that first few posts. So keep it up "cool clique!"
2)I know people will disagree, but I think threads like "what's for dinner" are a detriment. I think it would generate more discussion and be more helpful for newbies to actually comment on individual recipes eg "I made this tonight but with x instead of y, and served it over rice and am planning on doing x with the leftovers." I know lots of the recipes are old hat to many of you, but they aren't to all of us! There are lots of interesting ideas and modifications mentioned in these threads, but they are buried and someone who isn't checking 5 times a day can never catch up.
3) Amazing moderators! I have been on dozens of different forums over the years, and this is by FAR the best moderated. Other forums are full of repetitive questions but here the moderators immediately direct to relevant threads. And any threads posted in the wrong section seem quickly to be relocated. This makes this forum much easier and more pleasant to read, thanks moderators!!
-
Many thank to MJ and CC re sticky thread; don't know how I missed the print button. I have been a typist all my life and can type out my recipes quickly but ask me to find my way around the computer, pay a bill online or get my paypal to work and I am lost completely. I take lots of pictures but again I haven't worked out how to put them on here. Whatever you great moderators do, please don't get rid of this forum; lots of us are just getting used to this media.
-
I agree with chookie, posting recipes and photos is very time consuming. I have finally managed to get my photos the right way round. Getting one photo on here can take me up to 30 mins as the first effort never works as they are too big, then I need to crop & re-try many times and then if you need to add the recipe, for me it is a long process and sometimes you dont have the time. I also convert recipes on the go, never write them down & quite often just wing it. To stop & write things down takes time & when I am off on a cooking spree I am in full on speed and I really dont stop for anything. Quite often 2 thermies going plus the stove & oven.
If I worked I dont think I would have any time for the forum, would probably be a guest too.
I love the forum, have posted recipes and photos and will continue too, I like to feel I am giving as well as taking.
I have problems looking for a recipe that I know is on here, but where ???
Halex :)
-
I love the forum and whilst I agree it probably needs a bit of work to bring it more up to date, make it easier to navigate and easier to search for recipes, I hope the essence of the forum stays the same. Having a way to save your favourite recipes would be an advantage.
I’ve had my TMX for 3 ½ years and I’m sure I wouldn’t have made anywhere near the amount of things I have, without the recipes and help of the forum. I certainly wouldn’t be making bread, especially sour dough. I’ve also made some wonderful friends here on the forum.
I don’t have a lot of time to convert and post recipes as I work full-time. I do always try and post recipe reviews and photos when I can, as I think the review section is a wonderful resource on the forum. I read the forum every day. I find it easiest to just read unread posts since my last visit, any posts I’m not that particularly interested in (for example the air-fryer or going to Paris threads), I skip over.
There are so many TMX recipe books available now, so many other blogs, Facebook groups and pages were you can find TMX recipes, the need to convert recipes isn’t great.
I’m happy that it’s a Thermomix forum and not a forum for thermal blenders in general. I’ve joined other groups and FB sites that are for all generic thermal blenders and every day or so another argument breaks out between owners of different machines. Comments are taken out of context, people are ultra sensitive and it turns into the old “us versus them” debate. I wouldn’t want to see the forum go down that path.
I think the image problem that Thermomix owners have is out there in the general community and not specifically on our forum. Anyone with any machine is welcome to join the forum, all they need to do is sign up and join in and they will find the forum very welcoming.
-
Laura, thank you especially for point 3. The moderators enjoy being on the forum and enjoy moderating it. ( we would dearly love a few less spammers though, fortunately MM has given us the power to kick them off before they actually write something-usually)
Hally, I've always found Judy's search the very best way to find a recipe on here.
Go to Google, search for "the recipe name" with thermomix after it. Most times Mr Google will give you the recipe you are after on the forum. Quick and easy.
I must agree that posting recipes takes time. I usually put a stick it onto the recipe page and note down times, speed there. Then type it in later. Never having had any typing experience it takes me a while. I am lucky as I find it easy to add photos via Tapatalk, and that does the sizing for me.
We appreciate all and every recipe and know just how long it has taken you.
Laura, and others have pointed out that us more experienced tmxers tend to take a lot for granted. I'm going to try and remember this when I post recipes.
Thanks again for all the helpful comments, we are passing them on.
-
Let me start by saying I love the forum. It took me a while to 'settle in' though. I guess I stuck with it because I like to give things a real go before turning away. When I first joined I felt the group was very clicky. I found it hard to join in on the chat threads as I didn't feel I belonged. I posted one recipe and it's been trialled by maybe two people and not the main posters. So I guess that sort of discouraged me. I beared with it and kept communicating little by little I started to feel accepted. I know none of this was intentional people just pay more attention to those they know. I'm a busy mum of two. Crazy busy. Life is fast paced and at times quite stressful. Although I love to cook and share in my cooking I just lack time. So if there was a template for recipe writing that would make life easier. I used to love posting to my blog and corresponding with all the followers. However time is precious and unfortunately I just don't have the time anymore.
I think we all have to be accepting though of the fact that forums are in the decline. Facebook seems to be the central platform where all social media comes together. Sharing is fast and easy. Having said that it doesn't mean that others don't like forums and are happy with what is. I just don't think you can aim to vastly change your audience under a forum type platform.
Ps I don't use the website and if not available on Tapatalk I really don't think I would go specifically to the website. It's all about convenience I guess.
-
Have to agree with LauraTO, our moderators are awesome. And Judy is amazing - ask for something here and she'll find it in minutes. We're very lucky to have such dedicated moderators.
Thanks guys. ;D
-
Third this ^^^
-
I agree MJ, where would we be without Moderators!, they all do a wonderful job! :)
-
Absolutely our Moderators are the best.
-
Thank you ladies :-* :-* It's nice to be appreciated, we have a great team at the moment who work well together. Behind the scenes at times is very time consuming. We also have very helpful members who are only too willing to answer questions, provide links etc and we thank them for their help. It's important that questions are answered - I've seen on other sites where questions go unanswered and feel like asking for someone to please answer so and so's question :D
INAID, I understand what you were saying. Those who have been on here for years know each other very well, most have met at some stage but I thank you for hanging in there until you finally felt like one of us ;D No-one needs to be tentative about joining in conversations, we've never bitten anyone's head off.
Many of the changes you are asking for cannot be done by we three ladies but those that can be, eg, posting variations etc under the main recipe will be something we can do for you. It will take some time though even with 3 on the case. Some stickies have already been unstickied but important topics must be stickied for easy access so there will always be quite a few of those. In the case of recipe book reviews, each book is stickied so that they're all together and any book can be found fairly quickly.
-
Judy, CC, Cookie And Mm, you are the best, always there for all of us.
Thankyou.. :-*
For the newbies, just ask a question, some one will answer fast, if you are like me, and are always here.. :)
Judy has super fast fingers.. :)
-
Yes the Moderators are awesome . I hadn't realised what responsibility they carried until I saw Judy and CC working together a couple of years ago at Cherokee. They are not paid with money but Oh Boy , we really do appreciate the job they do.
INAID, I know how you feel about no one trying a converted recipe that you think is really good. I have posted a few recipes that I have thought great and no one has tried them. I have thought, ". What is wrong with this lot". Then some time later there has been a run on one of them with everyone wanting to try. I have also found that what you call the recipe is VERY important, and what category you post it under also important. For example if it is a vegetarian main meal, it might be better to post under main meal.
Another thing, INAID is that we are all as individuals very passionate about certain topics. Given limited time, we all tend to look at what interests us. Anything to do with bread, I will look at and try and help. There are lots of members now with equal skills who fortunately will fill in if I am not around.
I will try and find and post a photo of Judy and CC at work.

Here they are. Just look at the concentration.
-
Great photo! They do a wonderful job.
Probably the hardest unpaid workers around.
-
:D :D What a close up picture that is Chookie, naughty girl ;D
-
This thread is a great read. I love the forum and agree with just about all the suggestions, bravo Helene from me too. Couldn't have said it better. I'm another who doesn't post as regularly as I used to, but it's the first place I log onto once the children are in bed and a cuppa is made. I love the diverse range of recipes and all the tips and hints. The chit chat is the best bit and responsible for many giggles (much to DH's disgust!). I've tried blogs and Facebook, etc but find many to be unreliable, one dimensional and repetitive. Would love to be able to save recipes and don't mind a few modern tweaks here and there. Any improvements are good, but am wary of change just for change sake. Keep on mixing xox
-
Thanks Chookie for a great photo. I don't think they were even aware that it was being taken. ;D
-
Love the photo, and i can imagine cookie sitting with you just as engrossed. You 3 are the bones of the forum and the reason it's so highly regarded. INAID I realize it can be intimidating breaking into a group where there is a lot of familiarity but this is what needs to be done to make yourself known/heard. With regards to trialing recipes, it's all down to personal choice of ingredients. I never make GF, failsafe, paleo, ,raw, etc unless the ingredients sound appealing or its a mistake and i don't know. I know what it's like to post a recipe and wait for reviews. The most successful recipe I've posted was in response to a DH who had just bought a TM and wanted to make his wife her fave muffins. I looked up one online, converted it without even making it beforehand, and he loved it. We never heard from him again but the recipe has been made heaps since (Choc Chip Blueberry Muffins) including myself. With regards to "the cool kids" I don't believe this forum has any, only chatterbox e's. Am enjoying reading this thread. Speak up chatterbox e's, lurkers, newbies and friends the forum wants to hear from you.
-
Thanks Chookie for a great photo. I don't think they were even aware that it was being taken. ;D
Cookie, I think you were there in spirit.
-
I remember when that photo was taken. Such a great day meeting not only CC but everyone else and what a wonderful lunch Chookie gave us all.
-
I wanted to say that we were all new once, and have probably get out of the forum what we've put in, with the help and guidance of the wonderful moderators. Three cheers for JD, cookie and CC and of course The MM.
Yes it takes a bit of courage to start in on topics, and to post recipes which do take time, but I am so glad I persevered in 2012 when I first got my *: .
I'd been a guest previously while I weighed up whether to get a *: and the. It took me three years to save the money. I m so glad I got the *: and so glad I persevered on here.
The forum has been fun, informative and a source of many great meals and good friends from all over the world. I hope it can continue.
Lately I've had help from Gert with my pics as my rural broadband is so slow.
Ask and the help comes, friendship follows.
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

Thanks Chookie for a great photo. I don't think they were even aware that it was being taken. ;D
Cookie, I think you were there in spirit.
I certainly thought of everyone that weekend as we bumped and bounced along the Birdsville Track.
-
We need a like button. Agree with everything in your last post DJ. I felt uncomfortable often in the beginning( it's easy to be too sensitive when reading words) but the more you involve yourself the easier it is. Maybe there will be quiet times but I would hate to lose this friendly place.
-
I'm another that hasn't been posting anywhere near the amount I used to be that's because general life has got in the way and while i'm doing Michelle Bridges 12Wbt I'm not using my TMX quite as much. I have been popping in and reading and apart from a few tweaks like ability to save a recipe I would like to see the forum remain pretty much as it is. The job the moderators do is amazing and the help that others provide is also fantastic.
-
Are you enjoying the 12wbt, wonder? How is it going?
-
INAID, I agree with what you said about joining in at first as I felt the same and then I met two lovely ladies for coffee one morning and from then on it seamed much easier; I will start going through my converted recipes now and trying to post some; up until now most of the conversion bits have been in my head but will now put pen to paper.
-
I too love this forum and I can say from experience on a different one that this one is the absolute best and I've never found it hard to navigate.
When I first joined I was very nervous but the welcoming I received from my very first introduce yourself post soon made me feel welcome.
I haven't posted any recipes probably because there are so many great ones already on here and also I've not long converting some.
-
Sadly, one of the more common comments is that people feel intimidated or perhaps unwelcome when they are looking at or browsing the forum or when they join.
I have to be honest and say I do not recall feeling that, but the forum had fewer than 4000 members when I joined so perhaps it was not so overwhelming way back then. However, having said that, I had never participated on a forum before and didn't know what to expect - this remains the one and only forum I am on. I always found it helpful and responsive and was relaxed using it ... especially as I was a complete forum and TMX novice.
How can we get back to that sort of atmosphere? Well, I'm not sure that it has changed all that much, actually. Everyone who introduces themselves gets a warm welcome and are encouraged to be active and participate on the forum and all subsequent posts are nothing less than positive and often very inspiring. Perhaps we could be seen as 'cliquey' or 'cultish' by some, but I am positive that that is true of every single forum or social situation, regardless of the subject; there will always be a mixture of new and old relationships in any social setting and everyone was new at one stage. To me that is a healthy sign of members interacting with their fellow forum friends and, regardless of everything else, like meeting people for the first time in any situation, that is just what making new acquainances (later to become friends) is like. You have to put something in to get something out and I find I personally get so much more 'out' of this forum than I put in to it.
-
I think that welcoming, friendly atmosphere is still here...well, actually it's a wee while since I joined, but I certainly felt welcomed! and I think we still reply to new members introductions and try to get to know people.
Maybe it's just the name - we are a thermomix forum, so we have a strong thermomix bent. Also we are a bunch of pretty satisfied users, so of course we want to share the love. So someone coming in who's got an alternative machine or still thinking might find that a bit overwhelming but at the end of it were are here to share our cooking adventures, share recipes and share a bit of our stories with each other.
I find this the most responsive forum I have been part of - questions are answered quickly and with a huge wealth of knowledge. Even chit chat comments usually get responses, although it is a place to share little snippets of life, so sometimes it moves on to the next thing pretty fast.
-
Absolutely Jo and Marina. It is not just a recipe community but a real community.
Maybe I could make more of an effort to say hi to new comers too .
As has been said though you only get out of it what you put I into it. This is the only forum I participate in and. I was a forum virgin too. It has been great and really changed my life so I thank each and every one of you.
Gert

Good morning ( well it is here in WA, although overcast) everyone. I had a message from MM to say he was reading the posts we all put on here.
-
What an interesting read! I'm another who hasn't had a lot of time to spare lately as life and work keep getting in the way.
I joined here when there were about 3000 members (after lurking for quite a while) and only a couple of TMX cookbooks on the scene. I was (and still am ;D) in awe of the skills of many lovely ladies here. However, the tone of the forum is always encouraging, helpful, inspiring and sometimes very entertaining. And then there's the recipes! This forum has turned out to be one of the best features of my thermie! I have learned so much and met some wonderful people.
I agree that a little cosmetic surgery is probably needed to update the look and functionality, but without damaging the heart and soul. There is a vast, virtual universe of tmx recipes and info out there (getting to the overwhelm stage IMHO), but for me this is a tried, true and trusted resource. And many thanks to the moderators who do such a fantastic job.
Oh and Paprika compatibility would be great too thanks!
-
I have Paprika as well, so I would second that
-
Me too x 3

Hi All,
I really appreciate the feedback here. it's always good to be open and give members the opportunity to express themselves, so we can improve. I will see what we can do. Some issues may take some time in developing. Some issues may not be possible, due to forum limitations.
Just to update you on forum traffic, we have NOT declined in any way. Daily traffic has been constant for the past 2 years, so there is nothing to worry about. Most of the people who come on these days are passers by, who obviously look and grab recipes.
What we need is for people to register and become active in the Forum.
Our 3 wonderful Moderators are now doing a fantastic job in engaging members with "recipe challenges". The idea behind this is that it increases valuable content, as well as photos. We need this content in order to move onto the next phase. (I'll explain sometime).
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you all for your comments and hard work in keeping this forum alive. Content and wonderful members is "KING" and that is how we have survived and will survive for many years to come.
Wishing you all a great week.
MM
-
Thank you MM
-
I'm really enjoying the challenges. :D Getting new ideas from those and scouring the recipe section for an Isi or Chookie recipe has been fun. :D
-
Oh, I feel bad now. This is the first time I've seen this topic and it's been here since the last week of June.
I'm one that contributes little but this forum is my first point of call when I need a recipe. I use my ipad and he search function doesn't really help toooo much.
I've found that i don't use my TMX all that often and I promise to make more of an effort both on the forum and with the machine.
-
Interesting thread. I'm a member of a couple of other forums, and this is by far my favourite ❤️ It's really because of the members here, and the positive climate. No put downs. No feeling that this wonder machine is beyond me. Just very down to earth, funny and highly talented ladies (plus a sprinkling of men, but they don't appear consistently)
I didn't buy my TM from a consultant, and the forum was where I learnt how to maximise my usage. I've used tapatalk right from the beginning, as I like previewing a posting before clicking on it. Posting pictures is easy on tapatalk too.
Facebook might be more popular now, but a forum is more useful as a resource. Facebook posts get buried. Questions are repeated. Comments aplenty but from unknown people, which makes it hard to rate in terms of credibility.
The moderators play a mighty big role in keeping this forum ship shape. Thank you Cookie, Judy and Denise xx
-
Chrissa we love it when you have a chance to pop in. Maybe you could try something from a challenge if you have the time to get you using your thermomix more.
BZB thank you for your comments and especially your recipes. Some have become favourites in our house.
-
I love this forum as it is. It's simple & clear. The members & moderators are great. I don't post a lot because of the time factor, but I always pop in to read what interests me. I hope that not too much changes in the future :)
-
I didn't even realise the challenges were here. Sounds like a lot of fun.
I'll have to sit down later and have a look around.
-
I like many think this forum is great and thinking about why I always come back to the wonderful job the moderators do and the willing to help nature of forum members. I am a member of a couple of Facebook closed groups and despite their administrators best efforts have negative and at times quite nasty comments. Thank you moderators.
Until I got a thermomix I was not a confident cook so I am still in the process of learning and have many many recipes still to try from here and my thermomix cookbooks. So whilst I am not at a point were I have a "new" recipe to post, to all the members that have and do post recipes - thank you I do appreciate them.
From a newbie perspective I have been able to work most things on how to use the forum but one suggestion would be to have some instructions on how to post photos and hyperlinks on the website version and tapatalk version of the forum.
-
I have only just skimmed this thread as that is all I have time for these days - working sure keeps me busy!!
I did just want to pop in and let you know that as much as I don't contribute much these days, the Forum is ALWAYS open on a page on my computer (Yep this page never ever gets closed down) so that I can pop by for a quick look to see what you are all up to whenever I have 5 minutes.
I don't do much converting these days but I will try and remember to perhaps link to here should I stumble across a stunning recipe in my travels.
Keep going strong as this is still the first place I refer anyone to when I am chatting to them with the reassurance that they will get friendly help and great advice along with fabulous recipes!! :)
-
Thanks Kathryn. I can imagine how busy you are. I hope the children are well. I was speaking to 2 ladies in the queue at the Good Food show yesterday and neither had heard of the forum or Tenina. I told them they were missing the best part of thermomix. :D :D I gave them both the addresses and they took down the recipe for Chookie's No Fuss Rolls as I know it off by heart.
-
Oh I'm jealous, Cookie! I would have loved to have gone to the Good Food Show.
Kathryn, lovely to hear from you here! You're like me, when I'm busy, I check in, but have no time to really read the whole thread or make a comment. Often, it's simply to grab a recipe or check a recipe book review.
-

Cookie you are like me in that I will talk TMX to anyone who will listen. Think i sold another one while at daughters last week. One of her friends came around just to ask for an honest assessment of the machine.
Hope you enjoyed the Show.
-
Chookie, a friend called from Melbourne to ask about getting an Airfryer. In the middle of the conversation, he said it was between an AF and TM. I went full steam into the benefits of the TM. Told him to get that first if budget permits. Hehehe
But I don't bring it up if I'm not asked. I would appear mad 😁😁😁
-
That's me BZB. Mad. 😄😄😄😄😄 I felt so sorry for these people as their only book to use was the EDC, which is fine to begin but they both used computers and were pleased to be told about Tenina's site and of course the forum. ;D ;D
I was speaking with one and the other asked if we were talking about the thermomix. It seems to make people instant friends. Love it.
-
I found out that the DD of Morpeth's cook has a TMX as does someone else's DD who works there. The cook may be giving her DD some recipe books after I showed her on the iPad how many books were on the market these days.
-
We certainly share the love. A while ago a friend of DH's rang and asked me what my magical machine was as DH was always talking about it and he wanted to get one for his wife. When he heard the price he wasn't impressed. No amount of fast talking could convince him sadly. :-))
-
Something I noticed about the Recipe Community is that while there are lots of recipes, people's questions often seem to go unanswered (unless all the responses are personal messages). It must be quite frustrating especially for those new to thermomix. I do like the way that the forum will always answer every question and problem, often in record breaking time.
-
Thanks for such a lovely comment Bonsai.

Why not help people , if you can.
Without sounding morbid, if you know the answer to something that no one else knows and you pass away, your knowledge passes away with you ... and that's just plain selfish and of no benefit to you or anyone else. That's the reason why we all appreciate this forum so much, we are all happy and willing to share.
