I thought it would be great to have a list of what people bought (ingredients wise) once they got their TMX (or use a lot now they have one) so expectent 'parents' could get ready.
LOL ;D I am in the nesting phase of preparing for TMX arrival ;D :D ;)
I guess like......
whole wheat
buckwheat
whole nuts
etc etc
I wasn't sure if this sort of thing existed and wasn't sure how to search for it Thanks M

Quite a lot of stuff you will have already. I would make sure you have
Raw sugar
Ice cubes
Peeled bananas frozen (nobody mentioned to me to peel them before freezing... removing peel is difficult :-[)
Yeast
Baker's flour
Arborio rice
Having said that, expect a few trips to the shops as you start trying things you didn't expect you ever would. :D

I think it's good to stock up on a few essentials so that you can "go for it" when your baby arrives.
I can remember people discussing this on the forum under the threads of "top 10 pantry items" and "a thermomix pantry" with some very good suggestions.

Hope this helps.

rowyfo, just let them thaw, open one end and squeeze out ;)

LOL You are not alone re the nesting Meagan (I had a special spot cleared for my machine ages before it arrived ;D).
(I posted a reply just a few minuets ago, but it hasn't shown up...so am posting this again and apologies if it comes up twice!)
Like Rowyfo said, you will already have a lot of the main things. Mostly (as a new owner) I am baking a lot more than I did. I am going through these ingredients the most quickly:
Bakers Flour
SR & plain flour
Cornflour
Eggs (lots of them)
Yeast (I use sachets)
Sugar (raw, castor, brown)
Cocoa
Salt (sea & normal)
Beans, chickpeas, lentils (tinned or dried)
Carnation Evap Milk Light with coconut (I use instead of coconut cream)
Herbs (good range of dried and fresh)
Pasta
Rice (arborio, white, basmati etc)
Usual fresh veg (for veg stock), fruit, range of meat cuts, milk (maybe get some long-life milk and cream to use in emergencies)
Hope that helps! What's the count-down to getting your machine? Am getting excited for you! ;D

I've used up all my frozen peeled bananas, but thanks for the tip :)
-
Awesome thanks, I have pretty much all of that but will stock up on eggs when I know the exact arrival date ;D At this stage probably Friday week. Even though we are in Perth there is a bit of a back log because of all of the sales in July. I just need to get some almonds, wheat, buckwheat (I want to have a go at making a buckwheat pancake mix like the orgran one you can buy) and condensed milk. Shame there is no *dancing around wiggling your arms at the sides* icon cause I would insert it here ;D Very excited about my baby (TMX) arriving.....now where did I put all of my baby name books LOL :)

Meagan, I think in one of your previous posts you said you lived in Vic ParK? Dont know if you kno Loose Produce in Como, well if you go there they even label a lot of their stuff "Thermomix Ingredient'
They also have the occasional cooking class on a Saturday which is for Thermo owners so no sales pitch like the back to basics classes! and often Liz does different recipes that arent in the usual Thermo classes

I'd second Baf's comments. It is quite a nifty little place.

Chillies and lemons
wheat (whole)
lentils
and then you will have fun buying all the containers to match, so your pantry looks organised when you open it and need something in a hurry :D

Lemons - check (we have a lemon tree)
Chillies - must plant some
whole wheat is on the list
lentils - I assume you mean raw yes?
-
Yes and also a can of chickpeas to make the Hommus Dip. Can't remember offhand if there is a recipe for Tahini in the EDC - but I think I just bought a jar from the health shop anyway.
If you have a lemon tree, my fave dessert which I make weekly is Lemon Surprise Cake (which is on this forum, and is otherwise known as "Lemon Delicious Pudding"). Very nice served with a bit of icecream (and you can probably make your own if your freeze enough yoghurt ice cubes in preparation!)

Oh how true, and expensive :P

I forgot to say I tupperwared my pantry earlier in the year :o yay! So I am looking forward to getting rid of some of the contents of the containers and replacing them with whole foods ;) ;D
