Title: Quick Chicken Curry in the EDC
Post by: brazen20au on August 19, 2009, 10:23:30 am
has anyone worked out the proper cooking times so as not to end up with vegie mush?

the book says 20 mins with vegies then add chicken and do 10 more mins

tonight i did 6 mins for potatoes, 6 mins for vegies and then 10 mins for chicken. i have a few mushy nearly whole bits of zucchini and the baby corn is fine, but my carrots, potatoes and broccoli is gone totally.

i do cut into small pieces, for the kids ie: my potato was about 1.5cm dice, the carrot halved and sliced a few mm thick etc

This was another one of my early failures Karen so it has a big X by it - means no good!  Haven't tried it since. It was so long ago when I did it that I can't remember what it was I didn't like but I know if it doesn't have 2 ticks, it isn't any good. It is easier for me to convert a new recipe than fix an ECB one >:( >:( >:(

it's a nice one though, we like it, except for the mush :P

Maybe the quick chicken curry needs quicker cooking - haven't tried it - may have to give it a go for test kitchen purposes.

don't expect anything vaguely authentic, it's very mild and creamy (child friendly)
