I had the Bellini for over 2 years and used it 3 times. I'm not sure what made me think I'd be any different with the Thermomix but I can see it is miles ahead quality wise. Mine was delivered last Friday and we made the veggie stock. Then I only got to use it for the first time by myself on Monday due to work on the weekend and knowing that I would need some time to blunder thru my first efforts.
Monday I started to make the gnocchi in the book but then I realised I hadn't put the dial to 'varoma' to cook the potatoes and that the potatoes needed 40 minutes to cool...and I had to be at work in an hour!!!! So finished off the gnocchi yesterday and it was a huge hit. I can see that I will have to make two lots next time. Also made some pesto with sun dried tomatoes. I changed the spinach in the recipe to parsley (it suggested you could do that) but my parsley didn't quite chop up to the tiny pieces I imagined. Everything else did though and it was also well received by the family.
Phew! Now I'm busy searching out recipes for tomorrow's effort.
Oh, and I just want to say that I'm not usually a nervous cook at all. I'm also not really a recipe follower but I understand I will have to be until I get the gist of this machine! I can't wait until these early days are under the belt and I'm confident with whipping up stuff in the Thermomix!

Good idea to follow a few recipes while you get used to your machine but in no time you will be flying free I'm sure.
Glad you are enjoying success, there's heaps of fantastic recipes on here.

Jayda, good to see you are enjoying your TMX.

Welcome Jayda.
I'm sure you will be confident using your TM before you know it ;) If you have any questions there is always someone here to help you.

Hi Jayda in a week you will be Wondering how you cooked without the Thermomix, I use it for everything, love my porridge in the morning. It cooks while I cut up my fruit and get my coffee ready, just remember to soak the bowl as soon as you finished cooking and it will be easy to clean, invest in a brush to get around the bottom of the bowl if you don't want to take the blades out all the time. Happy cooking.

Hello jayda, welcome to the forum. It won't take you long to get used to the TMX, the more you use it the quicker that will be of course. I find chopping parsley is more successful if you drop it through the hole whilst the blades are moving although I've never made pesto with it.
Have a go at some of the recipes on the forum, tried and true recipes are the easiest to make.

Thanks everyone! Will try that with the parsley judydawn!

Welcome to the forum jayda :)

Welcome to the forum Jayda. You will find garlic chops nicely if you drop it onto moving blades as well. Very handy.
As everyone has said there are lots of wonderful tried and true recipes on here. Like Aussie Brenda I turn to my thermomix all the time now, it has become a natural way of cooking. I've just made some sour dough bread, so easy.

You are doing fine Jadya. It is such fun getting to know your machine. Mistakes will be made but the result will usually taste fine.

welcome Jayda ;D

Jadya,
Enjoy the TMX! I don't think our one has delivered any bad results regardless of how often I mess up the instructions.
Have fun with the journey, just promise that you will use it more than your previous purchase ;)

Thanks everyone! On the hunt for something new to try today :) Made the whole orange cake on Tuesday. I usually do that in the food processor but it was even easier in the Thermomix.

It's a fantastic machine. If you make yourself use it when you first have it, you will soon find it becomes part of your everyday cooking.
