We have a 'drowned' TMX - just beeping at us now - display is still working fine (though I think the two little led lights have stopped working).
Unfortunately, I purchased my machine second hand. I know it wouldn't be covered under warranty anyway, but I don't have a consultantant so am a bit lost on where to begin.
We are in NSW, Hunter region. Is there a repair centre nearby or do I have to send it to Sydney?
Can someone who has had to have their's repaired please share how much it has cost them?
Thanks

Do you have contents insurance? If so, does it cover accidental damage? Not sure how the TMX drowned but maybe insurance will pay for replacement if it is uneconomical to fix.

Urban, has liquid managed to get into the base of the TMX? Is that your problem? I don't know where Thermomix repair centres are in NSW but if you ring HO on Monday, freecall 1800 004 838 and tell them your story, I'm sure they will be able to point you in the right direction.

Hi Chocolatte
No contents insurance. It was a case of "too many cooks".... someone washed it and pulled the seal off the blades, someone put the dishes away not realising there was no seal on the blade and someone poured liquid into the TM without the seal on the blade :/

Thanks Judydawn, yep - it was water, oil and salt and cashews. I cringe just thinking about it!!!!
And am cringing at the potential repair costs :(

I've found a thread where others have had this problem, it's worth a read Urban.

Thanks Judydawn.
I think ours is past that - the mishap happened on Thursday, and it worked perfectly fine straight after, so we thought it was fine, I didn't go to use it again until last night - and it refuses to do anything other than beep :(
Hoping that when I call them tomorrow I can get it sorted quickly.

Thank goodness I have never had to have my machine repaired but it may be worth getting a quote. It could cost to get the quote but it's possibly not too expensive to repair. Do let us know how you get on as I'm sure others do the same thing. Good luck.

I've been trying to call the TM number for the last 30 minutes - please do not tell me that this appliance, which costs a small fortune, has WA hours only available for customers who need their assistance - ie I need to wait till Midday or 1pm before I can even begin to get this sorted?
So very frustrated.
-
Unfortunately, head office is in WA so you will have to wait for them to open UG.
-
Wow, that blows me away.
They don't even list this fact or their opening hours on their website :/
-
There is a 3 hour time difference. It is 9.55 am here now so I hope you have been able to get through.
-
yep got through around 11.30 NSW DS time. All hopefully organised, courier collecting tomorrow or Wednesday. Hopefully won't be any more than $350.
Thanks for the contributions here - much more helpful than the 'official' forums!

That's a nice compliment thanks UG. Please stay with us now and let us know how you get on and report on your cooking exploits when your repaired machine is returned.

Yes, please do UG. We are a happy friendly forum with lots of wonderful recipes.
