Might have to see if TMX Australia will import some. Couldn't get them from Spain. May have to ask bron or MM to organise a bulk posting.
-
Obviously only for drinks, but what little kid wouldn't like one of those. I don't know what she was saying as I couldn't get her to speak English and the video was buffering but I got the gist of it. How about the size of the doll ??? ???
-
I did have the thought of getting a list together of people who may have wanted one and seeing if Grace would do a special order for us ;) ;) ;)
-
Any idea of a price Kathryn - roughly will do.
-
LOL wouldn't have a clue JD....didn't think much of it until now. THEN I had the thought...what if it is retrospect to the proper TM!!! I probably wouldn't want one for the kids then :o :o :o :o they could just use the real thing :P
-
49,00 € - so about $100 ?
-
Bit pricey, they could use the real thing for their smoothies (under guidance if too young)
-
Would probably cost even more here as i have just contacted Perth to check on some new bits and pieces - decided to get a new butterfly for desserts and a new spatula too. The basket for inside the Thermomix is $45 here but only 5 € in Spain !!
-
When are you going to Spain for a holiday Thermomixer?
-
Didn't think postage was that expensive!!!! My Granddaughter would love one of those machines. She's 5 but seems to think she is an expert on her Mum's machine!!!!

Have emailed Grace to see if we can get some in time for Christmas - but haven't had a response yet.

I looked on ebay for the price in Germany and it retails at around 70 - 120 Euros.
Technical details (found on a German site):
- apparently the timer actually works
- the temperature buttons light up just like the real TMX
- there are three speeds that you can choose from
- the scales can be switched on, but they don't actually work
- you can put 300ml of liquid in bowl to mix
- it beeps just like the real TMX
At the risk of sounding a spoil-sport here, I personally think that 70 Euros for a piece of plastic that can stir 300 ml of liquid is totally overpriced. The "blade" in the video looked very flimsy. instead of buying this for one of my children, I'd rather spend the money on a cookery course for children, so that they first learn to cook properly.
-
You spoiled sport ;D ;D ;D ;D ;) I like your suggestion - maybe even real cooking things - their own cake/baking trays, cookie cutters
-
Thanks Vivacity (you spoil sport LOL) but at that price I suddenly lost interest :o :o
-
Glad to see I haven't been put into exile after my comment ;)
There are some really good children's cookery books out there, the wipe clean recipe cards are the best. I cannot be bothered to buy the mini baking pans because my step-children inhale any cakes that they bake ;D and little, dinky cake pans are totally useless in their case.
-
no nothing mini here either except the kids play kitchen which they totally adore when we are not having a cooking day - which is where I WAS thinking of the baby TMX.
No exile lol....at least know what they are worth now and can stop dreaming and really start thinking about christmas shopping lol
-
Oh God do we really need to think about christmas shopping already!!!! :-)) ???
-
lol I have been for a couple of months, have half of it done already ;)
-
oh stop it! I have just gotten thru Xmas in July ;D ;D ;D
-
lol sorry, I become bit of a fanatic, we are one of those whose house is visible from the moon at Christmas although I don't like the count downs to start too early as that does scare me, just let me potter along with my shopping and planning thinking I still have plenty of time and then I will hit panic stations...oh about mid November :-)) :-))
-
I am always fairly organised but we have 3 birthdays to get through first :D so can't really think christmas just yet.....
-
Viv - don't stress about being banned for your comments. I would encourage kids to cook with the Thermomix
Dani at Kitchen Playground http://www.thekitchenplayground.com/2008/handing-the-kitchen-to-the-ankle-biters/ (http://www.thekitchenplayground.com/2008/handing-the-kitchen-to-the-ankle-biters/) and Karen at brazen's culinary adventures http://brazen20au.blogspot.com/2008/10/thermomix-review.html (http://brazen20au.blogspot.com/2008/10/thermomix-review.html) (Sorry Karen-can't quickly find the right posts) both have the kids using it and mam_bel does too http://belcooks.blogspot.com/2009/08/cooking-with-kids.html (http://belcooks.blogspot.com/2009/08/cooking-with-kids.html)
So, yeah - spend it on real kitchen implements.
-
Yep first thing I did was teach the teens how to use it and I recommend to all my customers to teach their kids ;D ;D Mr 4 and Miss 2 are in the throws of learning now. I have always had kids on chairs etc in the kitchen. Mr 4 is very good at making knot rolls lol. They have progressed now and are allowed to touch the TMX buttons under supervision. ;)
