Title: Cooking with a Thermomix in Child Care / Canteen
Post by: Polly on May 03, 2016, 05:19:54 am
Hi,

We have just purchased a Thermomix for our Child Care Centre.  Does anyone have any tried and tested recipes / ideas to feed 44 children per day?

Thanks
Andrea

Hi Polly. What sort of things do you have in mind?  Are you wanting to actually cook with the children helping in child are?  How old are the children who will be eating from the canteen?

Hi

We have ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age.  The main meals which are being cooked at the moment are things like Spaghetti Bol, pasta bakes, mild chicken curries, lasagne, etc.  Just wondering if we would be better cooking 2 batches of something rather trying to make one bigger batch.

Just after any ideas really.

Hi Polly, welcome to the forum.

Would something like these little zucchini, cheese & bacon mini quiches be suitable - they are very popular with adult and children alike.

Polly if you can manage it I would scroll through main meals and copy/print etc whatever you think may be suitable. I think the children would like this Chicken and Bacon Macaroni Cheese http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=359.0
There are various zucchini slices on here that would be suitable too. Perhaps some of the soups would be suitable.
Let us know what the boss thinks.
