Not sure if this info has been put up on here - couldn't find it anywhere on here. Chef Laurent is a French Chef that runs the St Johns Tuckshop in Nambour. He uses and promotes the Thermomix. In fact he was special guest at the very first cooking class went to when I first met my Thermie! He is launching a new cook book and it has Thermomix recipes in it and menu planning ideas; recipes for up to 50 people, including space to write your own quantities; and a range of low cost, easy to prepare, delicious recipes that kids will love. A few of these recipes will also be appearing in the 'Canteen News' magazine that goes out to all the Tuckshops around Australia. So Thermomix will get a huge amount of exposure in the coming months.
Check it out.

Fantastic! ;D ;D Everything is really on a roll for a great lead up to Christmas and next year ;D
-
Thanks Nay-nay - I tried contacting them when I was first starting up but never heard back. He must have been writing his cookbook.

I had heard recently that using the Thermomix in the tuck shop and making "real" food - they managed to save $70,000 a year.

:o WOW!! Must be a huge school!! If that is how much they save what the hec do they make! - Nothing like the turn over I used to get when I ran our little Tuckshop with 35 kids - and we only had tuckshop once a fortnight!
-
St Johns has an enrolment of around 550 students currently so not one of our bigger high schools (we also have 2 state high schools in town with around 1200 kids at each).
Interesting to find they have a TMX there though! ;D
ETA: I found their menu here: http://www.stjohns.qld.edu.au/images/stories/St_Johns_College_Tuckshop_Menu_as_at_Aug_09.pdf

Thanks for the link. I've asked Santa for this book.

Thanks Nay-nay - have received a few emails now with the link. Yours was first :-* :-* :-* It is a good advert for the machine. If a Frenchman uses it to cook it must be good !!
