Title: Cooking Pasta
Post by: CarolineW on November 23, 2009, 12:14:00 pm
Hi, just passing on a tip I learned last week.

If you're cooking pasta in the pasta sauce direct in the TMX bowl, then add the same number of grams of liquid (eg water) as you have grams of pasta.

Conversely, if you are following a recipe which expects you to cook the pasta in the sauce, but you plan to cook the pasta another way, then reduce the amount of liquid (eg water) by the number of grams of pasta that you WON'T be cooking, to have the right sauce consistency.

I tried this out with a 'from the top of my head' recipe last night, and it worked really well.  Then I added some of the yogurt cheese I'd just made to the sauce at the end.  Yum.

Thanks CarolineW, that is a tip that makes lots of sense. Possibly why I had never thought of it either.
