I think I need to go to bed! Its 12.15am & I have been on the forum checking out all of the recipes for the last few hours. My mouth is watering thinking about yummy things & I can't wait till I get my machine in a week or so. I told my sister that it does everything & she asked "does it vacuum too?" I told her that it didn't but she agreed that it did so many other things that it was OK if it was deficient in the areas of housework eg: vacuuming and washing dishes! Guess you can't have everything though but it comes pretty close as far as kitchen items go. Goodnight! I need to go and have some sweet dreams (eg eating pudding and cheesecake and cakes and dips and all other foodie snacks that I know will be made in the thermomix once it arrives!)

Welcome to the forum pandateddy ;D
-
Sleep tight. Bet you dream of the Thermomix!!! lol
MM

I know that feeling - its lovely! Welcome!
-
Yes, we're all hooked. I have to get my daily fix. So many recipes to try.
-
Hi & welcome to the forum pandateddy. That was your first 5 hours on the forum, believe me you will spend many, many more. Glad you like our recipes, there are some beauties here and they are still coming at a rapid pace. I have files bulging with recipes to try and very rarely cook the same recipe twice unless I have visitors, then of course, I give them something I know is going to work and be delicious.
-
You're in good company pandateddy!!! And a double whammy is that the tmx is addictive and so is this forum! It won't be long and you'll be clocking up the days instead of hours! :D :o
Re the dishes - you will be amazed after a day of cooking how few dishes you really do have compared to now!
Enjoy!
-
You make me laugh pandateddy. Hooked you are.

Welcome ;D and as much as the TMX doesn't wash the dishes, it doesn't make many either!!! ;) ;)
-
Fortunately I got in early - now there are 20,000 posts to wade through ( and a lot of rubbish ones from me !!).
I know a couple (JD & CB79) declared their intentions to read everything. It is time consuming, but fun.
-
Don't know how you keep up with all those posts!
-
Hello and Welcome pandateddy. ;D
-
Let me add my welcome also, Pandateddy! (Cute name)
I am also a newbie - got my "Tuffy" on November 12 and have had a lot of fun playing with it.
I too love this forum. Being an old lady, I have no hesitancy about sticking my oar in and dispensing various bits of knowledge I have absorbed over nearly 60 years of cooking.
-
And we appreciate it too Andiesenji. ;) ;)

and as JD says - we appreciate all your knowledge - makes me look like a complete amateur. :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
Welcome Pandateddy. As well as the TM books available already, this forum will have you chained to your kitchen and computer. Have fun, and when you are ready to convert some of your tried and true recipes, we look forward to trying them also ;D

I have had severe withdrawals this week as I have hardly had a chance to be on and am about to go to bed now as have to take the eldest to the airport at 3.30am :o :o ah well might get on nice and early in the morning when I come home as I will be too wide awake to go back to bed :o :o
-
:o Ohhh that's way too early Faffa!!!
-
Yup :-)) just got home and after driving for two hours I am wide awake and no hope of going back to sleep so going to catch up on here for a bit until it is a reasonable time to kick start the TMX, washing machine etc - probably another hour ;)
-
Those 5:30 flights are a killer :o :o :o - hope you get a nanna nap.
-
Nope no Nanna nap today as have kids to pick up that are coming home from camp ... just a typical day in my life lol
-
Do you rotate the beds? Send one lot out and then pick up the next lot? ;D ;D ;D
-
I love that thought. Sort of like the bunks in the navy.

Lol now there is a thought....I could rent them out ;D ;D ;D I only proclaimed last night that they couldn't all be away at the same time now could they :-)) :-)) :-)) Imagine how much time I would get to spend on here then!!!! I might actually be able to catch up :D
-
I think you are superwoman Kathryn with what you do manage to do in your busy life and still contribute to the forum. :-* :-*
-
To be honest Judy the forum is my "time out" while I tell and proclaim to everyone I am working lol (it is my work related) ;) ;) but I am not superwoman, there are plenty out there that do more than I do. I am very lucky in that my boys are a great help to me as well and I am not very good at sitting doing nothing - I make a very bad patient - which is why I have had a hard time getting rid of the flu :-)) :-))
-
Judy the 2 youngest children are lovely. So well behaved and a real credit to Kathryn and Scott. I'm sure the older ones are the same. She doesn't look old enough to have 5 children.
Well done Kathryn.
-
No, she doesn't. Just think how many grandchildren you are eventually going to have Kathryn ;) ;) You are going to be surrounded by youngsters for many years to come. You will need 2 TMXs to feed them all when they all come home to Mum.
-
Ok blushing profusely now :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ but thank you. lol Second bowl and blades are on the way so guess that is a start ;) ;) ;) hopefully no grandkids for a little while though!

Just received a funny - sort of related to this and another thread:
"Last night, my kids and I were sitting in the living room and I said to them, 'I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug.'
They got up, unplugged the Computer, and threw out my wine.
They’re such a**es..."
Could this happen to anybody on here ?? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
No, they wouldn't want me to get grumpy ;) ;) ;) ;)
-
LOL that's not me that's my kids!!!!! ;) ;) :o :o :o
-
Not me yet. I still manage to use the TMX sometimes. It was very funny though, must pass it on to a couple of friends.
-
For me it would be unplug the computer and and TMX.
