Recipe Name: Spiced Moroccan Tomato & Lentil Soup
Book Name: EDC
Tweaking details: only that I left out the turmeric because I didn't have any.
Review: this was DELICIOUS. I'm a bit fussy about my soups, so I hadn't tried any TMX ones yet, but I had a 'cupboard is bare' moment last night so made this for dinner. Spice level was about right for us, texture was good. We had it with fresh TMX bread. Tasted even better today for lunch! I've always got these ingredients in my cupboard so it might just become a regular
Score: (out of 5*) 5

This was one of the first recipes that I tried in my new TMX. Every one loved it.
-
This is one of my favourite winter warmers as well.
-
Thanks - it is a simple invigorating dish for winter - maybe the UK users would need it now.

Just made this based on the good reviews. I like it, and it appears pretty healthy. Not sure my DH is going to be happy when I give him this and a salad for dinner tonight though! He's not into vegetarian meals :-))
-
I haven't made this. Come winter or a cooler day I will have to do it with all those recommendations.
-
Sounds like just what we need - shame I haven't got the book :(
-
Made this again tonight. Highly recommended.

I made this last night but didn't have onion so just omitted.
It did seem like it was missing something (obviously the onion!), but the spice blend seemed like it was missing an element as well (perhaps salt or sugar)?
I rate it a 3/5 (without onions), but can see how the onions would make it more delicious.

I love this recipe and as we are not vegetarian I always add some rashers of bacon and saute up at the same time as the onions. Lovely with fresh TM bread

Made this tonight however subbed lentils with rice. Served with a dollop of sour cream. Gorgeous!
-
Great to know that rice can be subbed...I think I'll write that in my EDC, thanks

Jamberie, it was really lovely. Just what I needed on a wet and windy day (ok it's not cold outside but still suited the conditions LOL).

This soup is one of my absolute favorites, still way too hot for soup here though.
