Title: Honey Ice-cream
Post by: bron on January 18, 2010, 08:58:19 pm
Although its freezing here, and the last thing on my mind is ice-cream, however I thought maybe you guys might like to try this one, supposedly delicious, although I may have to wait a while before I can try ice-cream again!

HONEY ICE-CREAM:
Serves 4 - 6:
Ingredients:
500g milk
4 egg yolks
1 tablespoon cornflour
300g honey

Preparation:
Add milk, yolks and cornflour, program 4 mins 90º speed 3, then add honey and re-program further 4 mins 90º speed 3. Cool, then freeze for 3 hours, blitz speed 5 and serve.
Sounds lovely!

Meagan - It is really sweet - too sweet for me and I am a mega sweet tooth!! Not sure I would make this one again.

Thermomixer - How about just halving the honey content and adding a teaspoon of lemon juice?

Oh, you poor things over in the West. I should watch the TV news/weather more often  :-)) I thought we were doing it tough in the low 30's for what seems like forever but that's nothing on 40's. Hope there is a cool change on the way.

Definitely time for icecream. Yes Judy it is a bit hot very b.... hot. It actually rained yesterday afternoon and it has made it very humid. It's very overcast here again and very hot. I hope it doesn't come over to you.

Will make this tonight or tomorrow. We have just had 35°C in Melbourne today and it's still 33° at 8pm. Trying to keep the house as cool as possible but after a couple of hot days here the external bricks heat up too much and opening windows, doors etc is not an option. We  have practically been living in our pool the last few days. Thank goodness for the forum and all the sorbet/ice cream recipes!!
