Title: The EDC chocolate cake - a question
Post by: marmee on January 29, 2010, 02:32:23 am
Just a quikkie   ;)

Anyone know if you can *triple* the mix for this in the TMX?

I tried doubling but still not enough for the birthday cake I am going to make in about an hours time.  I need to make 2 decent sized bar cakes and estimate that 3x the recipe will be needed.

Would just love to get it all done in one go....

Thoughts?

Have you seen this one Marmee. IMHO it is a better cake than the EDC one and is about double the quantity. I have used is several times for birthday cakes. I often cook it in a larger slab tin

Oh - thanks so much.  I wonder if I could do this 1.5 times.

No point wondering...off to try!

Great thinking VHJ. I agree the EDC one isn't the best.

Yep - you can times that recipe from VHJ by 1.5 and all will fit.  Delicious - even the 9 year olds commented on how yummy it was!  Thank you  xx

I find the EDC cake is very dry after a few hours, its fine if you eat it when it first comes out!  I wouldnt do it as a birthday cake to be honest The torta corprese is lovely but probably a bit pricey for a kids cake!
