Title: Bimby Blogger and Facebook Group creator from Melbs
Post by: bimbykitchenadventures on March 22, 2010, 02:56:54 pm
Hello Thermo fans!!

I am so happy to be introducing myself to this vibrant, enthusiastic, HAPPY community of food lovers.

I've visited these pages often, first while I waited for my machine to arrive(I've been very inspired by what everyone has been talking about and sharing), and now that it is here in my kitchen, I've been getting into the recipes. Yesterday I made my first pavlova in the Bimby and the recipe came from these pages. Thanks so much for help make dessert such a hit! I've had my bimby for two weeks now and I can see exactly why this community is such a happy one. It's fabulous!

I have a background as a yoga teacher, vibrational healer, club and radio dj, blogger and former restaurant owner and caterer.
I've also been getting right into eating more raw foods over the last twelve months(mainly to help my body heal from 20 years of living it up in discos!) and it's been amazing. I'm writing about my journey with food, consciousness and the Bimby lifestyle on a blog called "A Starseed's Bimby Kitchen Adventures" at (http://www.thermomixdownunder.blogspot.com (http://www.thermomixdownunder.blogspot.com)) and I have also created a page on Facebook called Thermomix Melbourne, for all Thermo owners, fans, consultants, and anyone else who might be curious about it out there.

All are welcome, no matter where you are from and I would really love to connect with you there as well as here. Please take a look if you have some time.

I'm very excited by what I'm wiriting about in my blog...it's main "theme" is all around how I'm using the Thermomix to help me make better choices when it comes to food, and the choices I'm making are all being guided by my inner "felt sense", in each moment, rather than following any particular diet. I have spent a lot of time learning about various approaches to wellness and nutrition so I have a very good idea about what to do/what not to do but my background in spirituality and healing has helped me refine my intuitive faculites a lot and I firmly believe that I can create a healing path for myself that is unique to me, using food as medicine, and it's quite an interesting journey!

Thanks so much for reading this far. I am so looking forward to getting to know everyone here. Oh, and I have already linked to this forum from the Facebook group page. I don't have any links up on the blog yet but will do so soon.

best wishes for your radiant health!

Liz

Hi Liz

A very warm welcome. I too am new to the thermomix and what a wonderful machine! I will look forward to seeing your recipes.

The thermo makes life so much easier and so much more fun for people struggling with dietary restrictions! I have noticed like you too that the TM fosters a really positive community. Non thermo owners seem to have a problem understanding our (or at least my own!) boundless enthusiasm for the machine!   :D

What a lovely, warm welcome!

Thank you so much for your replies, and for visiting my pages  :)
It's so good to have landed here. I can't wait to start sharing recipes once I've had some more time to experiment with the Thermomix.

I'm in training at the moment to be a demo consultant(YAY!), so with that, work and creating these new web pages I'm not in the kitchen as much as I'd like to be at the moment, but I will be soon, and that's where the fun begins big time! I love coming up with new recipes so the possibilities are endless  :o

Faffa_70, thanks very much for joining the FB page too!
Moonmobile, I loved what you said about non-Thermo owners not quite understanding our boundless enthusiasm...the best thing about having this forum is that we are clearly NOT alone hehehe!!

A Chook Woman, Thermomix-er, and Cookie1, you know you guys are kinda famous around here, so thanks for making me feel welcome and worthy of your time. I feel very special to have exchanged emails with you now 8) This forum rocks!!

And JudyDawn, I do hope that when you get a chance to look at my links, you'll let me know if anything there resonates with you.

Have just read everything you've written Liz - I'm exhausted, all that energy and enthusiasm you have has worn me out :D :D I found it very entertaining and at times funny and I'm sure you will have a very successful career as a demonstrator. I wish you well in your endeavour of achieving what you need for your good health and wellbeing and will follow your blog with interest. I look forward to perhaps some recipes coming our way either on this forum or on your blog.

Judy, thank you!

What an awesome review of my blog so far. I'm delighted that you found it entertaining, even funny in places. Not very many people have told me that, although I've managed to make myself laugh a few times at the things I've written :P , so I'm glad to have your company  ;D

I'll certainly be posting some recipes very soon. In fact, today I did practical food cooking at training and I tweeked my raspberry/lychee sorbet recipe (which was the first thing I ever made in the Bimby), so I'll post that now.
More to come! 8)

with joy beaming, Liz

Hi Tebasile and Trudy,

Thanks for your comments and hello! Oh my, I had thought that Vitamix fans might not take too kindly to me calling their darling "fugly"! hehehe  :D But perhaps the more light-hearted of them wouldn't take too much offence and might think about upgrading to a Thermomix one day...please pass the link on and let me know what they say please  ;D

blessings, Liz

Dear Thermomix-er and WillowFox,

Thank you both for the warm welcome. The schedule is going to be rather hectic indeed, but I've had a lifetime of preparing so I'm going to be ok. The last couple of years have had periods of mega-crazy busyness, followed by stretches of downtime...and I knew when the pace ramped up again it would be hard to find any time to do much so I've spent lots of time in bed being completely lazy and introverted. :-))I'm sure it's part of the reason why I now have so much to say on my blog haha! Bring it on I say!

Have a good weekend everyone!

Liz  ;D :D :)

Welcome Liz  :)
I have looked at your facebook page and also joined and will encourage my mum to join as she is a new TMX owner and Demonstator she will find it interesting like myself.
I haven't much spare time on my hands and thank people on here who make things easier, with their helpful hints, tips, ideas and recipes. The links you posted on your fb page are great, thank you :-)

Welcome Liz! I've had a go at reading through your blog, but it exhausts me just reading it!
I've joined your Melbourne Facebook Page, even though I'm from WA. There's another Thermomix Facebook page going too.

Good luck with your new consultancy business!

Hello Michelle and MeganJane,

Thanks for taking a look and welcoming me here. Michelle, it's great that you joined the FB group and I'm delighted to know that you like the links I've added there...I'm always looking for more Thermo-related material so if anyone has some that I might not have posted yet, please let me know by private message so I def receive it.

Megan, at least you had a go at reading the blog! The fact that it exhausts you was not my intended outcome : )
but I think that's just because the first post is long. All the others are quite short and hopefully nowhere near as taxing.

Best regards, Liz
