Post by: maddy on April 15, 2010, 03:32:47 am
I'm struggling for gift ideas for my Mum, and also not sure what I would like  :-\

What's on your "wanted"  list.......might give us all  some ideas!  8)

Maddy, I always enjoy getting a voucher for a back massage, a facial or a pedicure (all 3 if you can afford it ;D ;D).  I also like vouchers on different shops so that I can choose my own clothes but most of all, I love being invited to DD's home for a lovely  meal that I haven't had to cook myself.  I only have the apple peeler on my list this year, the rest will be a surprise.

I have asked for the boxed DVD set of Jamie Oliver at home.  I love watching them and want to have them to keep.   :)

What a great idea Lara. I have a birthday just before Mothers' Day so have to think twice. I am rather stuck really.  Maybe a second TMX bowl, or a raised vegie garden or a voucher for lots and lots of books.

I like Lara's list. If not, then a Bunnings Voucher!

But really, I'd just love it if all my family would be here for a wonderful family lunch.

Last year, I made a batch of TMX Fudge (fabulously fine and delish), batches of biscuits made up a little hamper with some bought choccies. This year I will probably do the same and add a bedroom deodoriser as well.

LOL Judy,

I'm trapped on a suburban block of 810 8km's from the CBD.  I would love a few acres but the husband won't go rural!

well  I would honestly like:

1.  a ticket for a holiday
2.  some spending money inside the card
3.  a brand new wardrobe of co-ordinating clothes
4.  a garden makeover
5.  some original paintings on the walls

(sigh) and (another sigh)

well if someone washed and vacumed my car   :o  :o  :o I would be happy to cross the above off for this year

I'd like MrsT to bring me breakfast in bed as I do it for her every other Sunday morning.  :-)) :-))

Guess the presents I'd want are not likely to reflect what Mothers would want.  :o :o :o

A sleep in sounds good... but when I get the oppertunity I'm so used to getting up early that I cant sleep  :'( :-))

Hmm was doing some gardening today and thinking about what I'd like so here's the start of my list (though I know I'll have to settle with a kiss and a hug  ;) ;D):

A sleep in
No mess to clean up when I get up from early rising children
Me time to do something for myself

Oops.. I get that every Sunday.  Kids go to their dad's on Saturdays.. :-))

Maybe I'll settle for no arguments with the 15yo for a week? *shrug*
;)

Always when asked this question, I used to reply "Good Kids!" Being that they are now 23 and 20 I might just be lucky! No lazy day for me, tho, as I have mother and mother-in-law to "spoil". :)

I would like to have the parents of 'It's not my fault', 'I didn't do it' and 'you don't understand' to come forward and collect them.. they are safe... for now that is!

A day of no fighting, dobbing and nasty scowls or tears would be ideal, but a pressie to go with it that would be the icing on the cake.
I have put an order in to see 'Powderfinger's' final concert this year, lets see if  DH can achieve it, considering I bought him AC/DC tickets lol  :) ;D :D
and to add to this list I figure I have 3 kids which I am sure equals to 3 gifts lol a Kindle. I decided a Kindle over an ipad for the purpose of which it will be used and reading books won.

A TMX.  I'm still waiting for us to *afford* it.  Sigh... Apparently come tax time I will get one.  I'll see it when it's in my hot little (well big) hands.

I'll settle for cuddles from my kids.  I'm easy to please.   I'll probably get breakfast in bed too though. :)

Oh Catisa I have "I didn't use it" here waiting for collection - are you sure that its not one of yours?  ;D

Hahahaha, what you thought 1 got away? lol no I only have 3, but could be evil twin to "I didn't do it".  "I didn't do it" would be DD 10yr. "It's not my fault" would be DS 6yr and "you don't understand" would obviously be DD 5months lol

Hence the reason a Kindle is in order, to escape reality for some what that is legal, and hey they can't book me for reading, charge me for been under the influence of too many words or confiscate the book for reading too fast. Hmm learning to drive in a Torana out bush has a lot to be said ;-) ;D :D :o :P

lol I had a "what about me" that was DS, then he turned into "it's not fair" and only just turned into "it's not my fault", what's next? ;D

The 15yo is "You just have NO idea do you?" before ignoring anything said to him.  ;)

oh I have heaps to look forward to then  ??? ??? ??? ??? Hmm out of curiosity do you play the same game back? Cause that would be my 1st approach, my future teens have no idea whats install for them lol ;)

It depends on what issue is at stake Cat... you really have to pick your time... at home if they don't get their way they take the frustrations out on younger siblings  :-))

Public areas are good.. every "can I have..." or "what about we..." is ignored or reflected with "Go ahead, it's your money" or "Can you say "GROUNDED""... which seems to be a common theme.. :D
Title: Re: What would you like for Mothers Day?
Post by: faffa_70 on April 19, 2010, 04:03:59 pm
lol the best ones for the teens is "I don't know"

can I go out..."I don't know"
what is there to eat..."I don't know"
where are my clothes..."I don't know"

see the theme roflmao - works for just about everything  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm with you Brazen.  I want 24 hours to myself.  The hammock, a hot day, a good book and a glass of bubbly wouldn't go astray either.

I agree the 24hrs alone is great... most of the time  :-))

If I go out.. with friends and stay out... I seem to have a billion things to do when I get home before they do...
And if I stay home... I miss them dreadfully and spend it all doing things for them anyhow..  :-\

Hope you all get what you wish for!!  :-*
