Title: What's your favourite forum recipes? Vote for the Favourites Cookbook
Post by: Russell on April 15, 2010, 01:26:41 pm
OK let's start off this way with our recipe book collection.

Please nominate your favourite recipes from the forum in any or all of the following categories :-

1. Starters & Snacks

2. Soups

3. Main Dishes

4. Seafood & Fish

5. Vegetarian

6. Desserts

7. Cakes

8. Babies & kids

9. Diet

10. Bread

11. Special Diet

12. Drinks

13. Jams & Chutneys

14. Spice Mixes

15. Breakfast

16. Festive Seasons

17. Non-food recipes (I think we'll skip this one)

18. Raw Recipes

19. Condiments & Sauces

I propose the Top 30-50 will go into the first book, depending on votes.

A continually (i.e. as I get the time) updated version of the book will be published initially at http://recipes.manyhobbies.com once I finalise the site setup (and my web host gets their bugs sorted  :'(). I'll post separately when the first version is up.

Vote away  ;D

Russell.

There are a few repeats coming through - get your votes in to make sure your favourite recipe doesn't feel rejected!

Keep 'em coming.

Sorry to be a pain, but if it's possible, can you link to the recipe thread if it hasn't been mentioned already, just like Cathy has? Makes it much simpler for me to compile. If not, never mind I'll sort it out, just helps.

Thanks. Russell.

This is very hard as I don't make a lot of things twice.
I like Isi's portugese rolls, the banana nut icecream, baf's chicken, and oh so many more. :'( :'(

Russell, here's an update on the washing powder from CP63:
This works extremely well for me, and is a nice double size mixture:

2 x Velvet (or pure) soap, roughly chopped
1 x Sard (or stain removing) soap, roughly chopped
400g Borax
630g Washing Soda

Blitz soap for approx 5 seconds on Speed 7.
Blitz all ingredients together on Speed 7 for approx 10-20 seconds until it is evenly combined.
Use 2 x heaped tablespoons per wash, 1 1/2 or less for front loaders (added by meganjane)

Thanks MJ. I've been adding sard to mine and I think it really helps.

My way is not very sophisticated - I haven't figured it out yet. i just copy and paste the web address from the top of the page your recipe is on.  :-[ :-))  ;)

Yep, that's a start. If you want to make it an actual hyperlink, just select the link text after you've pasted it, then click on the icon in below the Underline icon (the U with a line under it). The Hyperlink icon is a world globe with a small page in the bottom right corner.

I can do links now . . . . . but only when I can locate my printed copy of Thermomixer's instructions.  ;)
