Post by: cookie1 on April 17, 2010, 03:10:00 am
Hi South Australian friends. I've just heard that you had an earthquake/tremour last night. I hope none of you received any damage or scarey moments. thinking of you all.  :-* :-* :-*

We live in the hills, not far from the epicentre and were all tucked up in bed and sound asleep, but it woke us up!
We all got out of bed and wandered around wondering what on earth had happened. :o :o
It was an amazing and unnerving noise, but not too much movement - just windows rattling etc.  We went outside and it was so eerily quiet - except for every dog in a 5 mile radius barking!

I didn't know anything about it until my Mum rang this morning so listened to the 10am news to find it had been down our way.  However, with so many early morning rises for the builders who are currently renovating our bathroom, I crashed last night and obviously was dead to the world as was DH.  I also slept through the one way back in the 50's as a kid  :-)) :-))  Mum was up watching your football match Cookie (glad to see you had your first win) and she felt nothing - she is just around the corner from us.  Windows shook at Largs North, a couple of suburbs away from us and it was felt at Outer Harbour which is the final suburb after ours at the end of this peninsular on which we live.  So, being in the middle of those 2 suburbs we should have felt something but then it had probably petered out by the time it got down here from way up in the hills where Amanda lives. Thanks for your concern Cookie  :-* :-*

Wow,

I wonder is it just we're more informed these days or what, but there's seems to have been an earthquake somewhere about every week for the past month or two. Someone down below seems to be quite upset.  :-\

Russell.

Sure it wasn't somebody using their TMX to make a sorbet ?

We made the same comment Russell.

Great way to explain it Thermomixer, those ice cubes would sure give things a shake up.

Glad things are Ok. They do unsettle you Amanda.  It's very eerie how everything rattles around.
