Morning all,
I am in the market for a new crepe pan. You are all cooking experts, so I thought I would ask if anyone here would recommend one that they have used. I am willing to spend a bit, but I want to make sure that with the right treatment it would last a long time.
I make crepes once or twice a fortnight, and I am fed-up with my current pans. One is tiny, and the other is massive and heavy, and too deep.
Thanks in advance for any help on the topic. ;D

I wish I was an expert Sim! :D
A couple of my friends swear by their Scanpan crepe pans though! http://www.kitchenwaredirect.com.au/Brands/Scanpan-Classic-Cookware/Scanpan-Classic-Crepe-Pan-25cm (http://www.kitchenwaredirect.com.au/Brands/Scanpan-Classic-Cookware/Scanpan-Classic-Crepe-Pan-25cm)

I have to agree with the others, it has to be Scanpan!

Sim, I use a 30 year old Sunbeam crepe maker and it makes beautiful crepes. Thin, even and makes lots from the batter recipe that came with the machine. Never did have much luck making them in a traditional crepe pan so am hoping this machine outlasts me as I don't think they make them anymore.

Thanks everyone, scan pan might just be the way to go

I have a crepe pan from way back when Gourmet Cooking did home cooking demo's (party plan). It is like an inside out looking pan and it is so quick and easy even the kids use it. I haven't heard about them in years and just looked them up and they are still going with a website. Crepe pan is $115 now!! :ohttp://www.gourmet-lifestyle.com.au/products.shtml

Mum has one of those - so easy to use and get the mixture thin instead of trying to pour it in evenly. Used to come with a fantastic recipe book too. Price looks pretty good, as scanpan can get very expensive.

Oh - how much is scanpan?? I can't remember how much the crepe pan was 14 yrs ago - about $75 I think. But I didn't even buy it - it was an wedding pressy! I was amazed to find the company again as I haven't heard about them for years. My GL said she used to sell these products. :)

Hi,
I use a couple of black iron crepe pans....I swear by black iron/blue steel. Easy to use and easy to clean. Just watch the handles cos they can get very hot. I have a large black iron frypan, an omelette pan and two crepe and they are now the only frypans I use....really should dump the non-stick ones that never come out of the cupboard.
Take care
Stacey
