Arrrrrrgh - do they still have people down the gold mines there? that would be scary.
Was the bad quake years ago in Kettering?
-
I missed the excitement as I'm still in Perth & knew more about it than my husband when I spoke to him as had a couple of people contact me. Seems most of the damage was to Boulder and we are at the other end of town. Apparently it was quite scary and there were quite a few aftershocks throughout the day.

The bad earthquake was at Meckering Thermomixer, closely remembered well done.
Hope you had no damage at home Roxy.
It is hard to believe that the Meckering quake, the Newcastle one and Kalgoorlie were all similar strengths.
Yes Thermomixer still lots of mining in Kalgoorlie. You should see the supe pit, it is e........n..........o............r.........mous.

Boulder is still getting regular tremors, both my mum and in-laws live in Kal-Boulder. It was more the new houses that suffered from what I have heard, except for the heritage buildings down Burt Street (main st of Boulder). The newer house suffered with cracks in the walls, as the older 30+ yr houses are built a lot better and have better foundations.
