Hi everyone,
I have had my Thermie for a month now, I amstill experimenting with it..The first thing i wizzed up was the Vegie Stock, and have been using it in quite alot of different dishes..I have a large box of Limes, can anyone give me some ideas on what I could do with them??Would it be best to peel them all, then wizz them up and then strain the juice??Not really sure what to do with them, there would have to be about 100 of them..Looking forward to sharing some recipes in the future,, :)

Hi Luvtocook, welcome to the forum. What a lovely problem you have - all those limes to deal with. i'm sure you will get plenty of ideas from others but sounds good to me to juice, strain and freeze in ice-cube trays. Wonder if you could zest some too and freeze that in small quantities - not much good only having the juice on hand if the recipe calls for zest too. I think I remember one suggestion was to make lime cordial with excess stock. Happy cooking, you will be glad you have joined us here on the forum.

Welcome to the forum Luvtocook. I am not sure how you could preserve the limes, but there are lot's of lovely recipes on the forum here that use limes. Here are the links to some of them:

And don't forget Margaritas ;D ;D
Crush as much ice as you like ( bonus of sharpening your blades at the same time)
transfer ice to margarita glass/es
Mix 45ml tequila, 30ml lime juice & 30ml triple Sec or Cointreau and pour into glass/es (if you want to share)
Serve garnished with lime slice
Yummo- Lucky you luvtocook - all those limes just calling out to be made into margaritas

I lurve limes and usually freeze the juice when I am fortunate to have a few left over from my G & T's and other drinkies. You can preserve limes as you do lemons. Yummy . Lucky you and welcome.

Welcome luvtocook - if you have so many then maybe quarter them and remove the centres to blitz and strain as you suggest. Rather than actually peeling as you might normally - although the zest is great too??

Welcome!
What a wonderful problem, I adore limes.
You can make a fermented lime pickle - I just googled a recipe, simply limes quartered, some juice and some Indian spices and leave in a jar in the sun for a couple of days. Put away in the pantry for a few weeks, then use with Indian foods.
You can squeeze all the juice and freeze the shells to use for marmalade. I'd make lime cordial if I were you.
