You will find this recipe in the Full Steam Ahead cookbook on page 58 but it is also here (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=5434.0) on the forum.
I cooked it exactly as per the recipe (including using the turnip) and was surprised at how tasty it was. Made it the day before eating it and it was very thick next day so could even be diluted a little if you find it too thick. Was OK for me though as is.
Only change I would make is to roughly chop the spinach leaves when they are uncooked to save time at the end of the dish plus the fact it is hard to chop really hot spinach leaves without burning your fingers.
I would serve this one up for a dinner party as it is something completely different to what any of my guests would have ever made themselves. 5/5 for us - makes heaps too.

Thanks for the review JD. I really love the FSA reviews as they encourage me to give the recipes in that book a go.
-
I agree Chelsea. It is a strange book but on closer look, you do find some things worth trying. The pictures help though.
-
Thanks JD - great to hear that some of the weird recipes actually taste good. :-* :-* :-* if we are prepared to try them.

I just got my copy of FSA today! I have mentally marked this very recipe as one of the first to try. I think there are some nice recipes in there (mind you I don't eat seafood, liver, rabbit etc), some nice ideas for adapting other recipes (some of the sauces sound nice). I saw the chocolate custard in the pots, and thought that I really don't see the need to steam something like that as the EDC chocolate custard and Isi's creme dessert as lovely without the extra steaming step.

Thanks Judy, I had this one earmarked to try, so now I definitely will.

I made this today with parsnip instead of turnip. Absolutely delicious! It has a beautiful creamy, smooth texture, and feels like it should be full of flour or cream, but doesn't have either. So quick and simple.

Yes, it's quite a surprise isn't it Cathy?
-
A fantastic surprise. Would be a great "guess what's in it" dish.
-
Unless they were a regular user of chick peas Cathy, I doubt they would be able to guess.
-
Judy we love this. I usually cheat and wilt the spinach in the microwave and then pop it into the bowls.
-
I did this one on your recommendation Cookie. Nice to hear you are enjoying yourselves.

This is exactly the soup recipe we use in the Varoma demo, isn't it? Very popular!
