George using TMX to make tuiles - pretty basic - but it's there
-
he could have done something abit more exciting then that! still good to see tmx on the telly
-
omg it was on for like 2 seconds!!! what a let down! could have made more of it yet aagain
-
Nice to see it on there but yes, didn't really talk it up at all......
-
I was so excited when I heard the name and then, what a let down! He could have used a simple food processor for the tulles - why didn't he grind the almonds in it first?
-
My thoughts exacty MJ :-))
-
Did you see the TMX tonight on master class?
I laughed as it was referred to as a high speed blender (no name used), and was whisked out of sight pretty quickly!
I guess their high spending sponsors wouldn't have been too impressed to see it used in the first place.
-
high speed blender!!! its so much more than just a high speed blender!
at least it showed how powerful and fast the tm is, still its always great to see the tm on the telly!
-
Yes, more than a blender & Darren Purchase knows only too well. He has used Thermomix at Vue de monde for 2 years and was the chef who put together the Aphrodite dessert at the Press Club, where they have the TMX.
Think the kiddies watching were suitably impressed by the high speed blender. ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
We were very excited to see it again on Masterchef - is that 3x so far this series? I have to admit that even thought the dessert looked amazing I was a little put off by the ingredients and when he described what titanium dioxide is used for (line marking on footy/sports ovals) I did think -well I don't usually get down and lick the lines at the footy, so why would I eat it in a dessert ??? ??? ??? Any exposure of the Thermomix is a good thing though, even with the inept description.
-
They were definitely impressed by its speed and efficiency in turning the toffee to powder!
High speed blender indeed.....hmph (http://www.thedishforum.com/smilies/angry/angry2.gif)
-
Just how I felt MJ. Aren't they allowed to mention the word Thermomix on the show? To be honest although the dessert looked really beautiful I would prefer to tuck into a good apple pie and icecream.
-
i agree cookie, apple pie sounds nicer!!
at least they did something (as minor as it was) that showed the power of the tm.... they should be able to say what the machine is, otherwise why would they be able to use it on the show at all...... doesnt make sense ??? ??? ???
-
It is recognised with the partners/sponsors http://www.masterchef.com.au/partners.htm (http://www.masterchef.com.au/partners.htm)

Anyone else want to try Gary's Souffle with Crumble topping from last nights masterclass? That looks fantastic, and good for a conversion. I've never made souffle. Maybe there's some recipes around here that would kick start a conversion?
-
I thought it looked lovely. I intend to get the recipe off the site and have a good look at it.

OK. Who spotted the Thermomix in Masterchef last night??????
It wasn't an easy one, and I didn't see the program last night, but watched online today.
Christine Manfield told me that she had bought a Thermomix & so when I heard she had been on last night I watched intently.
It is at about 5 minutes into the segment and above the bowl. Also appears before this, but you need to watch !!
Christine Manfield's Thermomix (http://www.masterchef.com.au/video.htm?vxSiteId=f8066236-e138-457a-95f4-298ed80718f8&vxChannel=Full%20Episodes%20Complete&vxClipId=2729_748MC120710CR&vxBitrate=300&vxTemplate=MasterChef2010_IndexPlayer.swf&vxClickToPlay=true) <---- Click on this link or phot below - then on the Video listed as 1/6 - hope that works

Well spotted. I didn't see it. :'(
-
wow - the wonders of modern technology prevented me from missing it again :D thank goodness i didn't have to taste that dish (poor little pigeon got thoroughly carved up :'()

Gosh, I can't believe you saw that Thermomixer!! I didn't see that at all. When the Masterchef guys were over here in Perth for the Food & Wine festival ( which I reluctantly did not attend) I had a funny text from my son on the Saturday night. He said 'Mum, I am in a small bar in Perth and those doods from Masterchef are here and that French guy you like'. I replied that I would be there in 10 minutes, which of course was a lie since it was 11.30pm at night and I was in my pjs! I spoke to him the next day and worked out that they were in the Greenhouse, Perth's latest 'hot' spot and you can probably deduce that the French guy was Manu. My son said if he wasn't just having a few quiet pints, he probably would have spoken to George about his mad Mum and her Thermomix obsession. ;D :D
-
Kezza, that would have been a very interesting conversation. After seeing George and the TMX at the Good Food show I think you may be much better at using yours than he is. As Gary said to him 'your apprentices usually do this.'
-
kezza - I only saw it because i knew that it should be there. Didn't see the program on the night - just watched/rewound the video on their site ;) ;) ;)
I'm keen to find out what she is making in it.
-
Have to wait til I go to Sydney to check out what she has managed to make in TMX, but she has said she is doing a Masterclass on Friday - so it may feature again?????
-
OK, so who saw the Thermomix in Mark Best's kitchen last night? I didn't see all the episode, but it was in the background a couple of times. Did he do a Masterclass with the winners, or is that tonight?
-
Thermomixer you must have thermomix eyes. I didn't see it. Perhaps I need to stop looking at what is going on and look in the background. Mark Best had some of the contestants for a meal at his restaurant.
-
Was on again last night. They all had one, were using it to grind something for the 8 Layer Vanilla Cake- which by the way looked yummy! Im a bit sad its finals week- what will I do with my time!?! :D
-
Yep, it was far more obvious on last night's show nelleraye with one on each bench. I am wondering what I am going to do at 7.30pm next week too!! I am sure they will replace with another cooking show pretty quickly. I think my family will be glad to see the show finish this week ;D
-

Watch "the farmer wants a wife" ;) which will replace M.C.
-
I've never watched that before but I may this time as there is a guy, Jamie, who works on a pearl farm at Monkey Mia that we've chatted to quite a bit, so I would like to see how he goes.
MJ there is also a lad/man from Nyabing I believe.
-
I find it very hard to watch that show. It's just not believable how someone can find their perfect "fish" from a very small pond. It is very hard for city girls to go to the country and adapt to living on a farm. I always wonder if a couple end up together, if its only because of the pressure of being on a TV show where a match had to be the outcome.
With Masterchef its amazing to see how far the cooks have come along on the show since the start. A thing I wonder however is if they have a bit of time prior to access internet or cook books? The reason is they come on the show as "good cooks", but by the end of the competition they seem to be able to come up with endless gourmet dishes even from outside of their speciality area.
-
Was great to see it so much on the cake show and mentioned by name a couple of times.
CP63 - I'm sure they can use cookbooks because I've heard them mention looking through cookbooks overnight. Not sure about internet, though Jonathon was talking about downloading episodes of MC and taking them back into the house to watch so not sure how much tv/internet they had in the house.
There will be a celebrity masterchef I think in the near future, I'm sure I read it's been filmed.

I nominated him cookie and I'm going to be in one of the episodes when the film crew came with the three girls he chose to bring to the farm. They interviewed a friend and I.
-
Great work MJ. Not only do you sing, now you will be a TV star. I will have to tape it and fast forward to the bits with you and Jamie from MM.

Watch "the farmer wants a wife" ;) which will replace M.C.

isnt that only once a week? I will definately be watching to see our local boy! Think he will make the great southern famous!
