Title: Another one from the UK
Post by: Mangetout on June 26, 2010, 10:25:44 am
Hello everone. another newbie here. I'm way behind all of you, I still have an original Thermomix bought about 25 years ago and it's still going strong. Not anything like as versatile as the new model but I love it. It would be great if I could cash in all my kitchen appliances and buy a new Thermo but the cost is too much for me at the moment. I'm very envious of all of you with the new model. Has anyone else got an old one?

Welcome Mangetout! Have you got the TM21 or the older model again? I tell people all the time that people still use the one from the 80's but it's good to know that someone really still does!! What kinds of things do you use it for? You'll have to befriend the UK gals on here - you may be allowed to Thermie-sit if they ever go on holidays!  :D

Hi Mangetout (or snowpea as we would call you here in Australia ;)) welcome to the forum.  I'm also interested in hearing which model you actually have too but it's great to know it has been going strong for 25 years. Perhaps you could post us a photo of it especially if it earlier than the TM21 which I suspect it may be. Hope you enjoy the forum and get plenty of ideas from the great recipes on here.

Welcome Mangetout. Thanks for the translation Judy I knew it was something I should know.

I'd love to see a photo of your older style TMX too.

Welcome Magetout! I'd also love to see photos of your Thermomix and would also like to hear of your experiences with it. What sort of things do you make? Do you have any great recipes to share?

Hi Mangetout welcome to the forum. They are a friendly crowd here and have made me very welcome.I live in the U.K as well, in the Chiltern Hills of Buckinghamshire.Where abouts are you?I have met other Thermomix users who have the "older" model.I gather spare parts are the downfall nowdays to keeping the older models going. You can trade in you older model in part exchange for a new TM31.I know that UK Thermomix will give you a quote if you contact them.I am looking forward to reading about your experiences with your Thermomix and maybe some older recipes.

It's been a long time since I visited this forum but here I am again with a picture of my old Thermomix, still going strong after 25 years or more!

Here's a picture of it, we used it today to make hot chocolate and it really froths up the milk well.

I still use the original book from time to time, but it comes into its own when I made crumbles with nuts. Fabulous.

I would really love a new one but cannot afford one so the old one will have to do. I could never part exchange it, I have had it too long and it would be like parting with an old friend.

Cornish Cream, I'm not too far away from you, I'm in north Oxfordshire, not too far from Buckingham.

Best regards

Mangetout

Good to see you here Mangetout - I am also from the UK but in Sheffield so miles from anyone  :( :(

There's another TM330 user from the UK on here and he was looking for an instruction book - this is a thread started by him

I'm sure he'll be thrilled to hear about your machine.

Hi there, I think you joined well before me but I've just seen this thread  ;D  I'm in Dorset but soon to be moving to Hampshire

Glad to see you're having fun with your TMX.  I've discovered how well they make bread and have been obsessed with that - I need to get back to trying some new dishes ...
